Our verdict on CourseStack
CourseStack combines course authoring and delivery with managed virtual labs for technical training providers, software companies and internal enablement teams. Learners can access Linux and Windows virtual machines, code workspaces, Jupyter notebooks and multi-machine networks through a browser, without personal cloud accounts. The platform also includes assessments, quizzes, analytics, course payments, live workshops and hosted CTF challenges with live scoring. Its breadth suits teams that want training content and lab environments in one system; it may be more than needed for organizations seeking only standalone VM access.
The plan structure separates course publishing from lab capacity. Build is free and includes course drafting and preview, one creator seat, 25 labs and 100 credits per month, plus Creator Community access. Launch is $79 per month equivalent, billed annually, and adds unlimited course publishing, zero transaction fees, custom domain and branding, student VPN access and Co-Author Agent. Grow is $200 per month equivalent, billed annually, and adds networks, bundles and subscriptions, digital certificates, Discord integration and granular access control. Scale offers custom operating terms, LTI, single sign-on, priority support and custom academy design. Separate monthly capacity add-ons range from $125 to $750, so teams should account for these alongside the platform plan.
The browser delivery model and instant environment resets fit courses and events where learners need repeatable lab setups.
