Code Storage is managed Git infrastructure for agents, AI-driven coding platforms, and other systems that generate or manage code and machine-created artifacts. Repositories can be created and managed through TypeScript, Python, and Go SDKs, an HTTP API, or Git over HTTPS. The service covers commits, branches, Git LFS, forks, isolated namespaces, webhooks, and synchronization with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and other HTTPS Git repositories. It is aimed at developers building repository storage into a product rather than teams seeking a complete hosted forge.

Its strongest fit is a programmable repository layer. Clone, fetch, push, and pull operations use HTTPS with JWT-authenticated remotes, while webhooks support HMAC signature verification. Git LFS is included without a separate LFS server, and forks can support previews and experiments in isolated namespaces. Synchronization with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket helps connect custom systems to existing repository workflows. Modal, E2B, and Daytona are also listed integrations. These capabilities make Code Storage relevant for agent runtimes, coding platforms, and applications that need repository operations behind their own interface.

Pricing is usage-based rather than seat-based. Cold storage for content untouched for more than seven days is priced at $0.15 per GB per month, with compression and archiving for durability. Inbound push/write bandwidth is $0.06 per GB per month, while outbound clone/fetch bandwidth is $0.15 per GB per month. Hot storage offers extra-low latency and high IOPS but is charged per replica with a 3-replica minimum. Choose Code Storage when API-driven Git infrastructure, LFS, synchronization, and access policies matter more than a ready-made web application. Teams wanting an end-user repository interface should choose a broader hosted forge instead.

Code Storage pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • SDKs, HTTP API, and Git over HTTPS support programmable repositories
    • Git LFS, forks, webhooks, and synchronization support custom workflows
    • Fine-grained access controls, ref policies, and commit signing
  • Where it doesn't
    • API-only delivery requires a separate application or interface
    • No free plan for evaluating the service at zero cost
    • Hot storage is charged per replica with a 3-replica minimum
