Our verdict on Clann
Clann is a private photo and video storage service for parents, relatives, and extended families who want a shared family archive. Invite-only groups keep participation limited to invited members, while chronological timelines, shared albums, memory books, comments, and search organize family media around people, places, events, and dates. Native iOS and Android apps cover mobile access, and browser access lets relatives view the collection without installing an app.
Privacy is a central part of Clann’s design. The service supports end-to-end encryption for photos and videos in new family groups and in existing groups where encryption is enabled. It also supports photo and video export, giving families a way to retrieve their media. Storage is unlimited, and photos are preserved at original resolution. Videos may be reduced in size before upload, so families with a strict original-video archive requirement should review that behavior before choosing Clann. Its focused feature set suits shared family memories more than general-purpose file storage.
Clann uses paid Monthly and Annual plans, with one subscription covering the whole family and unlimited photo and video storage included in both plan types. A 7-day trial provides a short evaluation period, but there is no permanently free plan. The service is available on web, iOS, and Android, with App Store, Google Play, and Stripe listed in its ecosystem. Families seeking private group sharing, broad device access, and a single shared subscription should find the format appealing. Those needing a desktop application, a free ongoing tier, or consistently original-resolution video storage should consider another service.
