Our verdict on Circulus
Circulus is a cloud-based accounts payable automation platform for small businesses, accounting teams, and enterprises. It digitizes invoice data from semi-structured and handwritten documents, accepts invoices through email, uploads, EDI, FTP, web forms, and other channels, and routes them through configurable approvals. Its scope covers purchase-order matching, line-item coding, duplicate detection, audit trails, reporting, and supplier payments. Web, iOS, and Android access make it a fit for teams that need to review and approve bills away from a desk.
Pricing is structured around users and payment methods. The first user costs $48 per user per month with accounts payable automation, invoice processing, and workflow and approvals. Additional users cost $36 per user per month. Electronic and ACH payments cost $0.49 per payment, while check payments cost $1.69 per payment; virtual-card payments are also supported. A 30-day free trial is available. This model is straightforward for teams budgeting by user, but transaction fees should be included in the cost calculation for payment-heavy operations.
