Our verdict on Cartridge
Cartridge is an iPhone app for organizing a personal game backlog across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and other platforms. It lets users save games, assign Want to Play, Playing, or Played statuses, record completion or abandonment, add ratings and one-line reviews, and build shareable collections called Stacks. It suits players who want backlog organization combined with public sharing, likes, comments, and game discovery from social links.
The free plan includes the Library, ratings and reviews, unlimited Stacks, and social-link capture. Cartridge Plus is available weekly at $0.99, monthly at $3.99, or yearly at $19.99. Each Plus plan adds cover and barcode scanning, Steam and supported-link identification, personalized lore, no ads, and sharing without a Cartridge watermark. The pricing gives occasional users a free starting point, while frequent users can choose between short-term access and lower-frequency monthly or annual billing.
Cartridge’s strongest distinction is its connection to social and gaming platforms. It can identify games from TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, Steam, and supported links, while Google Gemini and IGDB are listed among its integrations. Public Stacks add a social layer through likes and comments, and personalized lore extends the Library beyond basic status tracking. Choose Cartridge if you use an iPhone and want a backlog that is also a shareable collection. Players needing a non-iOS app or a more intensive tracking setup should consider a different tool.
