C64 Forever is a Windows-based emulation and preservation package from Cloanto for people who want Commodore 64 software with an included content library. It covers the C64 and several CBM 8-bit systems, including VIC-20, C128, PET 2001, CBM 3032, CBM 4032, CBM 8032, CBM 610, C16 and Plus/4. More than 200 games and demoscene productions are preinstalled, while controller, keyboard and touchscreen input support suit different play styles.
Its strongest area is the combination of emulation and content management. RP9 provides single-file packaging and title authoring, and the software converts between RP9, D64, T64 and other formats. Built-in content search connects with RetroPlatform Library access, while screenshots, a virtual printer and Hayes-compatible modem emulation extend the package beyond basic game launching. Windows File Explorer and Search integration also fits users who want their collection connected to the operating system.
