Our verdict on Bulk Image Downloader
Bulk Image Downloader is a Windows desktop application for locating and downloading full-sized images from thumbnail galleries, forums, image-search results, web pages, and supported social sites. It also downloads directly linked video files. The product is aimed at individuals who need to collect images from multiple galleries or manage larger batches without downloading each file manually. Browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera connect supported pages with the desktop application.
Pricing is straightforward. The Free Version costs $0 one time and includes up to 100 images per gallery, two simultaneous download threads, two Queue Manager jobs, up to two BID instances, timed delays, and limited support. The Registered Version costs $39.95 one time. It adds unlimited images per gallery, up to 50 simultaneous download threads, unlimited Queue Manager jobs, unlimited BID instances, no nag messages or delays, and free upgrades for one year. The registered license is for individual use, so the paid plan fits personal downloading rather than a broader organizational licensing need.
Its strongest area is specialized gallery handling. Link Explorer extracts gallery links, while the Queue Manager supports unattended batch downloads. The application can resume interrupted downloads when supported by the server, validate downloads, and automatically retry invalid images. Multithreaded downloading scales to 50 simultaneous downloads in the Registered Version. That focus makes it a sensible choice for bulk image collection and gallery-heavy workflows. It is less suitable for users seeking a general-purpose downloader across multiple desktop operating systems, or for teams needing a shared business license. Buyers who mainly download occasional files may find the Free Version sufficient; heavier personal downloaders gain the most from the Registered Version.
