Our verdict on Braun BC25 Time Speaking Digital Alarm Clock
The Braun BC25 is a digital bedside alarm clock for people who want spoken time announcements alongside a conventional beep alarm. Its positive LCD display uses a 12-hour format, and the clock can announce the time when prompted or at the start of each hour. Automatic announcements can be disabled. Spoken setting feedback is available in English and German, making it easier to hear changes as they are made. A crescendo alarm and five-minute snooze cover the basic wake-up functions, while the backlight is manually activated.
The BC25 keeps its feature set focused on time announcements and alarm use rather than adding radio or projection. Its backlight stays on for 10 seconds after activation, so it is suited to occasional checks rather than continuous illumination. Power comes from three AA batteries, sold separately. The listed U.S. product page shows a $65 price for the BC25 black version and marks it out of stock; availability and price can vary by region. The published listing identifies one BC25 plan, not a range of feature tiers.
Choose the BC25 if spoken time on demand, hourly announcements, and spoken setting feedback are priorities in a basic digital alarm. It is also a fit for buyers who prefer a crescendo beep and a short snooze over a more elaborate bedside feature set. Consider another clock if you want radio, projection rotation, or an always-on backlight: those are not part of the BC25's described feature set. Buyers should also account for supplying the three AA batteries themselves.
