Our verdict on BakePorch
BakePorch is a cloud bakery-management service for home bakeries, microbakeries and pastry makers that sell directly to customers. Its storefront lets a bakery publish products with photos, sizes, pack quantities, prices and availability, while preorder controls define cutoffs, bake dates, quantities, pickup locations and pickup windows. An order dashboard brings together payment status and pickup details, making the product a fit for small teams managing scheduled customer collections rather than counter-service sales.
According to the published pricing, the BakePorch service fee has no monthly subscription or setup fee and no additional fixed BakePorch fee per order. The fee is usage-based for card orders, customer-paid by default, and can instead be absorbed by the bakery. Square processing fees are separate. Card checkout connects to the bakery’s Square account, with payment and refund records linked to orders. This arrangement suits bakeries already operating with Square in eligible US locations and USD; businesses seeking a standalone point-of-sale checkout should look elsewhere.
The strongest operational depth is in recipes, production and ingredients. Recipes hold ingredient quantities and batch yields, then scale production requirements and generate printable sheets. Ingredient tools record purchases, stock, waste and corrections, while recipe-based batch costing records ingredient use. These capabilities extend the storefront into practical small-batch planning without changing its direct-preorder focus. BakePorch runs on the web and lists email as its support channel. Choose it when online preorders, pickup coordination and lightweight production records are the priority; consider a broader bakery system for wholesale workflows, full production operations or dedicated POS checkout.
