Our verdict on ArmorDNS

ArmorDNS is a DNS-based filtering service for families, churches, ministries, and small organizations. It blocks ads, trackers, malware, phishing, adult content, gambling, and other domain categories before connections are established. Individual Private DNS hostnames support per-device policies, custom allowlists and blocklists, schedules, pause controls, and managed or unmanaged device settings. It works across Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, routers, and DNS-over-HTTPS-compatible browsers without requiring a VPN or device agent.

The Family plan costs $5 per month or $50 per year and includes all protection categories, custom allowlists and blocklists, real-time query logs, and pause filtering. A 7-day trial is available without a credit card. The Organization plan costs $20 per month or $200 per year and adds shared device management and priority support while including Family features. Pricing is flat per household or organization tier rather than per user, making the plan structure straightforward for families and small teams managing multiple devices.

ArmorDNS stands out through detailed device-level controls and visibility. Optional SafeSearch covers Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and YouTube, while scheduled category controls support recurring restrictions. Integrations with Covenant Eyes, Bark, and Circle extend its fit for family safety workflows. Families and small organizations that want paid DNS policies, logs, and encrypted DNS should find the feature set well aligned with those needs. Buyers seeking a free plan or AI features should choose another service.
