Our verdict on anonymoX

anonymoX is a browser add-on from anonymoX GmbH for users who want browser traffic routed through proxy servers. It hides the real IP address, changes the apparent IP address and country, and can help access websites affected by geographic IP restrictions. The product supports Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome, with separate website settings available in Firefox. It suits people focused on browser-based IP masking and geographic access rather than a broad privacy suite.

The pricing model is freemium, with a free plan that provides limited proxy access. Paid options are offered as a one-month prepaid period, or as monthly, quarterly and annual subscriptions. The subscription plans extend automatically and can be cancelled anytime, while the one-month option ends after one month. Premium adds unlimited traffic, faster browsing, additional SSL-256-bit encryption, and more identities and countries. This structure gives occasional users a short-term option and gives frequent users recurring plans with expanded proxy access.

anonymoX’s main strength is its narrow focus on proxy routing, IP changes and country selection across desktop platforms and browser extensions. Firefox users also receive separate website settings, which supports more granular browser configuration. However, the product should not be treated as a complete privacy defense: it does not provide verified ad, tracker or fingerprinting protections. Choose anonymoX if proxy-based browsing and geographic access are the priority. Choose an alternative if your requirements center on broader browser privacy controls, including confirmed protection from ads, trackers or fingerprinting.
