Our verdict on Amove Fastr

Amove Fastr is file-transfer software for moving data among cloud, local, on-premises storage and devices. It is aimed at storage operators handling large media files, AI datasets and other high-volume workloads. Deployments can run in the cloud, on customer infrastructure or through desktop applications, while an API supports programmatic access. Direct peer-to-peer transfers, resumability, checksum verification and encryption address common requirements for moving valuable data across environments.

The licensing structure separates Fastr Transfer from Fastr Server. Fastr Transfer is included with Performm. Fastr Server is licensed for deployment on customer infrastructure, with plans named for 1, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 or 128 capacity; the 4-capacity option is available for three months, while the listed capacity options also include perpetual plans. Each published plan highlights unlimited bandwidth. Fastr connects to Amazon S3, Wasabi, Synology and Glacier, and can connect cloud and local storage providers more broadly. A transfer cost estimate before execution and automatic policy-based data tiering add operational controls around those connections.

Its standout capability is the combination of parallelized transfers and transfer safeguards: data can move between cloud, local and other storage at multi-gigabit rates, resume after interruption and be checked with checksums. Encrypted transfers, expiring file shares and streaming from storage extend the product beyond basic copying. The trade-offs are a paid-only model, capacity-oriented server licensing and documentation as the listed support channel. Teams needing these transfer controls across the supported desktop and server environments should consider Fastr; buyers seeking a free trial plan or a broader documented support model should compare alternatives.
