Alternative Mod Launcher is a Windows desktop replacement for the default launchers used by XCOM 2 and XCOM Chimera Squad. It is aimed at players who manage Steam Workshop mods and want more control over profiles, categories, configuration files, and installed-mod organization. The launcher is free and open source, with Steam Workshop and Steam as its listed integrations. Its workflow stays focused on these supported XCOM games rather than serving as a general-purpose mod manager.
Steam Workshop integration is the central strength. The launcher can show mod details, tags, changelogs, dependencies, and subscription controls, while search and filtering help locate installed mods.
