Aatrix W-2 eFile review
A low-cost Windows filing service for federal, state and supported local W-2s.

Aatrix W-2 eFile is Windows desktop software for employers preparing employee W-2s from payroll exports or manual entries. Its focus is the filing workflow: bring in CSV or tab-delimited data, map columns to W-2 fields, review the results, and submit forms. Small employers that need federal, state, or supported local filing can select services by filing scope and employee delivery method. It also fits mid-market organizations, though the per-employee model and desktop platform may be less suitable for teams seeking a browser-based workflow or a broader payroll system.
Pricing is per employee as a one-time filing charge, with a minimum filing charge. The Fed Only W-2 eFile Service is $0.55 per employee and files federal W-2s and W-3s with the SSA. State Only and Local W-2 eFile Services are each $0.75 per employee; local filings are for supported forms and must be combined with another eFile option. Fed & State costs $1.09, Online costs $1.29, and Complete costs $2.79 per employee. Online includes hosted employee forms plus federal and state filing; Complete adds mailed employee forms. The software download is free, but filing services are paid.
The strongest fit is an employer with payroll data ready to import and a clear need for filing rather than payroll processing. More than 80 checks review employee data, and the service supports corrections to employee or company information and corrected filings. Employee forms can be hosted online, mailed, or both depending on the selected service. The tradeoff is platform scope: the listed software platform is Windows and deployment is desktop. Employers needing another platform, or whose local forms are not supported, should consider a different filing option. Email and phone support are available, without 24/7 support.
