They are examples of Play Store games for Chromebooks—not a verified list of paid premium games. Prices, paid status, and compatibility with your particular Chromebook need to be checked in the Play Store on that device.
Google’s official Chromebook game examples
Google’s Chromebook app recommendations include these three Play Store games:
- Asphalt 9
- Roblox
- Stardew Valley
The recommendation page does not establish whether any of them is currently a paid game, what it costs, or how well it performs on every Chromebook. Check each live listing on your Chromebook before buying or installing it. Google’s examples are a useful starting point, not a ranking or an exhaustive catalog.
Check whether your Chromebook can run Play Store games
Android app support is available on only some Chromebook models. Google recommends updating ChromeOS, then checking Settings > Apps > Manage Google Play preferences. If that option is missing, Google says the Chromebook does not support Android apps. On a school- or work-managed device, an administrator may also restrict Play Store access. Google’s Chromebook Android app guidance explains the setup and control options.

The perfect combination of performance, power consumption, and value helps your device handle multitasking smoothly and reliably with four processing cores to divide up the work.
Check a game on your specific device before you buy
Support has three separate parts: the Chromebook must support Android apps, the game’s listing must allow installation on that particular device, and the game’s controls and layout must work for you. Google says compatibility can vary by device and change over time; factors can include location, screen size, and Android version. The Play Store on the Chromebook shows apps compatible with that device. Google Play’s compatibility guidance explains why an app may not appear or be available.
- Open the Play Store on the Chromebook you plan to use.
- Search for the game and open its listing. Confirm that installation is offered on this device.
- Review the listing’s current price and purchase details before paying; do not rely on an older price or a game’s reputation as “premium.”
- Consider the listed controls and whether the interface suits your screen and preferred input method.
Availability can change, so an old compatibility result or another person’s Chromebook does not guarantee that the game will install on yours. Google also provides a guide to finding apps compatible with a device.

Choose an input method the game actually supports
Some Android games support keyboard and mouse play, and Google documents ways to map controls for supported games. Those options do not mean every game supports keyboard or mouse input. Check the individual game and its control settings. Google’s keyboard and mouse mapping instructions cover the feature.
A gaming controller is another possibility: Google lists controllers among peripherals Chromebooks can use. That does not guarantee that a particular controller works with your Chromebook or that a specific game accepts controller input. Verify both before buying an accessory or game. Google’s Chromebook peripherals guidance includes gaming controllers.

Consider extended updates carefully on an older Chromebook
On eligible older Chromebooks, opting into extended updates removes Android apps and the Play Store. If you do not opt in, Play Store support may remain, but game developers can still stop supporting the device. Check the consequences for your model before accepting an update choice. Google’s extended updates information describes the change.
