Yes. Schneider Electric lists PowerChute Network Shutdown (PCNS) v5.2 for 64-bit Windows 11, including Pro, Enterprise, Education, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, Enterprise LTSC 2024, and IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024. Installation also requires a compatible UPS Network Management Card (NMC) for the network-based shutdown setup; verify your specific UPS and card models against Schneider Electric’s current compatibility information.
Which Windows 11 editions does PowerChute support?
Schneider Electric’s PCNS v5.2 compatibility FAQ lists these Windows 11 editions: Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, Enterprise LTSC 2024, IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024, Pro for Workstations, Education, and Pro Education. The FAQ was updated September 17, 2026. PCNS supports 64-bit operating systems only; it cannot be installed on 32-bit Windows.
The Windows x64 v5.2 release page, dated May 9, 2025, also lists Windows 11 as a supported operating system. Schneider Electric does not specify Windows 11 build or cumulative-update boundaries in the cited compatibility material, so the listing establishes edition and architecture support, not testing against every Windows update.
What PCNS does and what you need
PCNS coordinates network-based graceful shutdown when critical UPS events occur. Its Windows release supports single, redundant, and parallel UPS arrangements. The software communicates with the UPS through a Network Management Card, configured with the card’s IP address and matching authentication settings. The installer walkthrough recommends HTTPS on port 443.

Before installing, check that your UPS and NMC model are compatible with your intended PCNS configuration. Schneider Electric’s credential FAQ discusses NMC models AP9630, AP9631, AP9635, AP9640, AP9641, and AP9644, but that list is not a complete compatibility matrix or a guarantee that every listed card works in every configuration. Consult the current Schneider Electric compatibility information for model-level decisions.
For the PCNS web interface, the compatibility FAQ lists Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox as supported browsers. It also lists AdoptOpenJDK 21.0.4 as bundled and OpenJDK 21 as supported.

How to install PCNS on Windows 11
- Check the Windows edition and architecture. Confirm that your installation is 64-bit and that its edition appears in Schneider Electric’s supported OS list.
- Download and start the installer. Get the Windows x64 PCNS v5.2 package from the Schneider Electric Windows x64 release page, extract it, and run
Setup-x64. - Choose the standard Windows option if this is an ordinary PC installation. In the wizard, select “Do not enable Virtualization Support.” Enabling Hyper-V support changes the licensing requirement; the walkthrough describes a no-license standard option when virtualization support is not enabled.
- Set web UI credentials and permit required ports. Create the web interface username and password, and allow the installer to open the ports it requires. Schneider Electric warns that otherwise the web UI may be inaccessible and PCNS may not communicate with the UPS.
- Configure the network and UPS arrangement. Select the appropriate network interface if Windows has multiple IP addresses, choose the UPS configuration, and enter the NMC address and authentication settings.
- Register with the NMC. Use HTTPS on port 443 as recommended in the Windows installation walkthrough. If prompted about an untrusted SSL certificate, follow the documented certificate verification and acceptance workflow; in managed environments, consider using a certificate signed by a trusted certificate authority.
Make sure the PCNS username and authentication phrase match the associated NMC’s PowerChute parameters. The credential requirements FAQ explains the matching requirement. Check that the card’s HTTP or HTTPS access setting is enabled for the connection method you select.

Fix common installation and connection problems
- Installer will not run or reports an unsupported system: verify that Windows is 64-bit. PCNS v4.3 and later cannot be installed on 32-bit systems, according to Schneider Electric’s 32-bit installation FAQ.
- The web UI will not load, or PCNS cannot reach the UPS: confirm that the installer was allowed to open its required ports, that you selected the correct network interface, and that the NMC IP address is correct.
- NMC registration or authentication fails: compare the PCNS username and authentication phrase with the card’s PowerChute parameters, and check that the NMC has the selected HTTP or HTTPS access enabled.
- A certificate warning appears: verify and accept the certificate using the walkthrough’s documented procedure. Where appropriate for your environment, use a certificate signed by a trusted certificate authority.
