Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Polymarket’s three APIs serve different stages of a market workflow: Gamma helps you find events and markets, CLOB provides live market data and order operations, and the Data API exposes account and market activity. They work together rather than replacing one another.
What each Polymarket API does
| API | Best for | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Gamma API | Market discovery and metadata | Find events and markets, then inspect their descriptive information. |
| CLOB API | Live market state and trading | Read order books and prices, and place or manage orders. |
| Data API | Account and market activity | Retrieve activity-oriented and account-related data. |
Polymarket’s API overview also lists separate Relayer, WebSocket, and Bridge APIs for transaction submission, real-time streams, and supported funding or withdrawal operations. Those are distinct services, not alternate names for Gamma, CLOB, or Data.
How events, markets, and outcome token IDs fit together
Start with the hierarchy: an event groups one or more markets; a market represents a tradable question with YES and NO outcomes; and each outcome has its own token ID. That token ID identifies the particular outcome whose price or order book you want to read, as described in Polymarket’s market-data guide.
- Use Gamma to find an event and its markets.
- Choose the specific market and outcome relevant to your application.
- Retain that outcome’s token ID.
- Use CLOB market-data endpoints to request that outcome’s price or order book, or use the relevant real-time service if your application needs a stream.
This flow helps prevent a common identifier mix-up: an event or market is not itself the token ID used for outcome-level pricing and order-book requests.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What the documented order workflow does
Polymarket’s “Place Your First Order” guide demonstrates an order workflow that authenticates with a signer and wallet address, fetches a market, selects an outcome token ID, submits a market order, and checks the resulting position.
- Initialize the documented client with the signer and wallet details required for the order workflow.
- Fetch the target market and select the outcome token ID.
- Submit the market order through the CLOB trading workflow.
- Allow for asynchronous on-chain settlement, then check the position.
A market order attempts to fill against available liquidity; any unfilled amount is canceled rather than left resting as an open order. Matching and settlement are separate stages: a matched trade settles on-chain asynchronously, so a position check immediately after submission may precede settlement.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The guide includes TypeScript and Python examples using the current client libraries. They are documentation examples, not a guarantee that every integration detail or package version will remain unchanged. Also, signer-based authentication in this order guide does not establish that every read endpoint requires wallet authentication. Check the authentication requirements for the specific endpoint you plan to call.
Which API should you use?
- Finding a market or reading its descriptive metadata: Gamma.
- Reading live prices or order-book state, or managing an order: CLOB.
- Retrieving account or market activity: Data API.
- Following changes as they happen: consult the separate WebSocket API documentation rather than assuming a standard read request is a stream.
For a typical integration, discovery, execution, and activity are different jobs. Gamma helps identify what to work with; CLOB handles live market state and trading operations; Data API serves activity-oriented queries. A workflow may use more than one.

Endpoint references, Data API versions, and operational checks
The API reference index organizes routes for event and market discovery, order books and prices, order management, trades, profiles, positions, and user activity. Use the individual endpoint documentation for exact parameters and response schemas; the index is not a substitute for those details.
The current overview says Data API v2 is available, with cursor pagination and a shared response envelope. The reference index labels Data API v1 as legacy. For a new implementation, consult the overview and the v2 reference and migration guidance instead of assuming legacy v1 behavior or compatibility.
