Mint’s review found unusually strong endurance, including 26 hours and 44 minutes in its PCMark battery test, but the phone’s weight, merely adequate ultrawide camera and occasional stutters under heavier workloads are real trade-offs. At the reported ₹35,999 starting price, it makes the most sense for buyers who value battery life above portability, camera versatility and sustained performance.
What does ₹35,999 buy?
Mint’s review, published 6 October 2026, reports a starting price of ₹35,999 for the POCO X8 Power. A Gadgets 360 listing snapshot dated 24 September 2026 showed ₹35,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and ₹38,999 for 8GB and 256GB. Those are dated figures, not a guarantee of the current price; check the exact configuration and live offer before buying.
| Configuration | Reported price | Price source and date |
|---|---|---|
| 8GB RAM, 128GB storage | ₹35,999 | Gadgets 360 listing snapshot, 24 September 2026 |
| 8GB RAM, 256GB storage | ₹38,999 | Gadgets 360 listing snapshot, 24 September 2026 |
There is no direct head-to-head comparison here, so the price alone cannot establish that the phone is a better value than a particular rival. The practical question is whether its unusually large battery is worth accepting its size and other compromises.
How much battery life can you expect?
Mint’s reviewer reports around two days of use with moderate usage. During the review, the phone typically had approximately 40–45% charge remaining after the reviewer’s average workday. These are the reviewer’s observations, not a promised runtime: screen brightness, mobile signal, apps, gaming and individual habits can change endurance substantially.

In Mint’s reported PCMark battery test, the X8 Power lasted 26 hours and 44 minutes. That figure is useful as a result from a named test, but it should not be treated as a prediction of screen-on time in everyday use or as an independently replicated benchmark.
The phone supports 100W charging and 27W reverse charging, according to Mint’s review. Despite the high charging rate, a 10,000mAh battery takes time to fill: Mint observed roughly 30–50 minutes for a full charge. That is the reviewer’s approximate result, not a standardized charging guarantee.

Is the design practical despite the large battery?
The yellow version gives the phone a more distinctive look than a plain glass-backed handset: Mint describes a vegan-leather back paired with a contrasting black frame and black camera details. The finish is a clear part of the phone’s identity rather than a hidden specification.
That battery comes with a physical cost. Mint reports a weight of 223g and a thickness of 8.65mm. The reviewer said it did not feel excessively bulky given the battery, but those measurements still matter if you prefer a light phone, use it one-handed for long periods or carry it in a small pocket.

How good is the display?
The reviewed phone has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Mint describes its colors as punchy and its outdoor visibility as good. The review also reports Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
POCO’s claimed peak brightness, as repeated in Mint’s review, is up to 3,500 nits. This is a manufacturer claim, not a brightness measurement independently established here; actual visibility depends on conditions and how brightness is controlled.

Is performance good enough for everyday use and gaming?
The X8 Power uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Mint found it generally responsive for normal use, while noting occasional stutters during heavier multitasking. The phone can support gaming at up to 90 frames per second, but the review reports frame-rate drops during extended play. That makes it better suited to routine tasks and casual gaming than to buyers prioritizing consistently smooth, prolonged high-load sessions.
Mint reported Geekbench 7 results of 915 in the single-core test and 2,851 in multi-core. These are the review’s figures, not results from independent testing for this article. They provide context for the reviewed device but do not by themselves predict how a particular game or app will perform.

What are the camera and software compromises?
Mint found the ultrawide camera adequate but not a major strength. The review describes 4K recording at 30 frames per second for the main and selfie cameras as a capability on paper; that specification does not establish image quality in every lighting condition. If camera versatility is a priority, the review offers less reason to choose this phone than its battery and display do.
The reviewed handset runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Mint reports that some preinstalled apps can be removed, while the Indus Appstore system app cannot be uninstalled; Glance was off by default on the review unit.
Mint also reports a promise of four years of OS updates and six years of security updates. Treat that as a reported support commitment, not a purchase guarantee: verify the applicable India policy and the terms for the exact model before relying on it.
Is the POCO X8 Power worth buying?
It is a stronger fit if
- You want battery endurance to be a defining feature and find Mint’s reported moderate-use results compelling.
- You like the yellow vegan-leather design and want a large, high-refresh-rate AMOLED display.
- You are comfortable carrying a 223g phone and your everyday use matters more than demanding sustained gaming.
Consider another option if
- You prefer a lighter, thinner handset or regularly use your phone for long one-handed sessions.
- You want a stronger ultrawide camera or consistently smooth performance during extended gaming.
- You need a dependable current price or a confirmed software-support policy before deciding; check both for the exact India configuration.
Overall, the X8 Power’s battery and design can justify ₹35,999 for a buyer who puts endurance first. It is not a universal value pick: its weight and compromises in camera versatility and heavier-use performance make the purchase less compelling if those matter as much as battery life.
