The POCO X8 Pro is the newer phone, with a larger published battery capacity and faster wired charging; the POCO X7 Pro has the larger display. Both list a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultrawide, so the specifications alone do not establish which takes better photos. Which is the better buy depends on your priorities and the current price of the same memory configuration in your market.

Which display is better?
Choose the X7 Pro for a larger screen
At 6.67 inches, the X7 Pro has the larger listed diagonal. That may suit you if you prefer more physical screen space for reading, video, or games.
Choose the X8 Pro for its published brightness figure and denser resolution
The X8 Pro’s listed display is smaller at 6.59 inches but has a higher pixel count: 2756 × 1268 versus 2712 × 1220. Both support up to 120Hz. POCO Singapore lists 3500 nits peak over 25% of the X8 Pro display, while POCO Global lists 3200 nits peak for the X7 Pro. Those figures come from different manufacturer specifications and are not a controlled measurement under identical conditions, so they do not guarantee that the X8 Pro will look brighter in every situation.

Battery and charging: what the specifications tell you
POCO lists a 6500mAh typical battery and 100W HyperCharge for the X8 Pro, compared with 6000mAh typical and 90W HyperCharge for the X7 Pro. This gives the X8 Pro the higher published capacity and charging rating, but neither figure by itself predicts how long a phone lasts between charges. Usage, settings, network conditions, and charging conditions matter; the cited specifications do not establish comparative screen-on time.
The X7 Pro’s global specification lists a 90W charger in the box. The X8 Pro regional specification warns that adapter availability depends on the local seller, and that actual charging output and results vary with conditions. Check the contents listed by the seller in your country before assuming an adapter is included.

Camera comparison: similar listed hardware, no clear winner from specs
Both models list a 50MP optical image stabilization (OIS) main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 20MP front camera. POCO Singapore identifies the X8 Pro’s main sensor as a Sony IMX882; the cited X7 Pro global specifications do not give a matching sensor identification. A sensor name or megapixel count is not enough to prove better image quality. No comparable side-by-side photo or video test is established by these specifications, so choose based on real samples if camera quality is a deciding factor.
What is the POCO X8 Pro price difference?
There is no single reliable price gap without a country, storage tier, seller, and date. A 91mobiles comparison page showed ₹23,999 for the X7 Pro at Flipkart and ₹38,899 for the X8 Pro at Amazon when that page was accessed. These are India-specific retailer price snapshots, not guaranteed current prices or confirmed like-for-like configurations; the difference between them should not be treated as a general or lasting premium. For a useful price comparison, check both phones in the same market and compare the same RAM and storage tier. Also confirm whether each offer is new and locally warrantied, whether it is an import, and what is included in the box. Compare the final price at the same time, since retailer offers can change.
Launch timing and availability
POCO scheduled the X8 Pro series online launch for March 17, 2026, at 20:00 GMT+8. Its event page says availability may vary by market and directs buyers to local sales channels. Which phone should you buy?
- Pick the POCO X7 Pro if you want the larger listed display, or if it is meaningfully less expensive than the X8 Pro at the same memory tier and with comparable seller and warranty terms.
- Pick the POCO X8 Pro if you prefer its higher published battery capacity and wired charging rating, or its smaller, higher-resolution display. Confirm the regional version and adapter arrangement before purchase.
- Do not choose solely on camera claims based on these specifications: the rear camera setups are similar on paper, and there is no comparable image-quality test here.
Software support may also affect long-term value, but the available comparison is secondary-source reporting rather than an official support-policy confirmation: 91mobiles lists Android 15/HyperOS and three years of OS updates plus four years of security updates for the X7 Pro, versus Android 16/HyperOS and four years of OS updates plus six years of security updates for the X8 Pro. Verify the policy for your region with POCO before treating it as a deciding difference. 91mobiles comparison.
