For a direct Playwright screenshot, set fullPage: true in JavaScript or TypeScript, or full_page=True in Python. Without that option, a screenshot captures the visible viewport, not the full scrollable page. Other capture paths—screenshot assertions, pytest failure screenshots, and the CLI—have their own settings.
Fix a direct Playwright screenshot
Add the full-page option to the screenshot call. Use the spelling for your language:

The right setting depends on what produced the image. A direct API call, a visual assertion, an automatically saved test failure artifact, and the CLI do not share one configuration switch.

Why the image may still miss lower-page content
The full-page option sets the capture extent; it does not guarantee that every part of the page has already loaded or been activated. Some pages fetch images or render sections only after scrolling, clicking, or waiting for a response. If content is absent in the screenshot, reproduce the interaction or wait for the relevant content before capturing. Treat this as a page-specific loading issue, not as a promise that full-page mode automatically triggers every lazy-load behavior.
For repeatable screenshots, use the screenshot API’s supported controls for waiting, animation handling, caret visibility, image type, scale, or clipping where they fit your case. These affect readiness or output; none substitutes for the full-page option. Check the documentation for your installed Playwright version, since the API and test-runner documentation is maintained and versioned.
