Was the Pixel 10 Pro launch date August 13?
No. August 13 was an early rumor about the Pixel 10 series announcement, attributed to a leaker in 9to5Google’s June 2025 report. That report was later updated as the expected event date shifted to August 20.
Google officially announced the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL on August 20, 2025, and set retail availability for August 28. Those are the announcement and availability dates—not August 13. Google’s announcement listed US launch prices of $999 for the Pixel 10 Pro and $1,199 for the Pro XL. Those are historical launch prices, not current price quotes.
How familiar was the Pixel 10 Pro design?
Pre-launch renders reported by Android Authority showed a phone resembling the Pixel 9 Pro, including rounded corners and an elongated, pill-shaped rear camera area. That was a description of leaked renders, not confirmation of every final design detail.

In its announcement, Google described the Pixel 10 series as refining its “iconic camera bar.” The phones also introduced Pixelsnap, Google’s name for built-in Qi2 wireless charging and magnetic accessory support. A compatible magnetic charger or case can be useful, but check that the accessory explicitly supports the model you own.
Does the Pixel 10 Pro have Tensor G5?
Yes. Google confirmed that the Pixel 10 Pro uses Tensor G5, which the company says is made using TSMC’s 3 nm process. Google presents the chip as a major custom-silicon upgrade and connects it to on-device features including Magic Cue, Voice Translate, Call Notes with actions, and Personal Journal. Feature availability can vary by country and language, and some features have age requirements.

Google’s published performance figures are company claims, not independent benchmark results. Its Tensor G5 explainer says the chip has an up-to-60% more powerful TPU and an average CPU that is 34% faster than Tensor G4. Google says that CPU comparison is based on internal testing with pre-production devices.
Google also says Gemini Nano runs 2.6 times faster and is twice as efficient on Tensor G5 for use cases such as Pixel Screenshots and Recorder, compared with Tensor G4. That comparison is likewise based on Google’s internal testing on pre-production devices. Treat these numbers as the manufacturer’s stated results, not a guarantee of how every task will perform on a retail phone.

How does the Pixel 10 Pro differ from the Pro XL?
The clearest differences in Google’s launch materials are display size, US launch price and the XL’s stated wireless-charging rate. The two Pro models share the same broad triple-camera setup.

Both models have 16 GB of RAM, according to Google’s announcement. The Pro’s display is the more compact option; the XL is larger and has the specifically stated 25W Qi2.2 charging capability. Google’s announcement does not establish that the smaller Pro charges at the same rate.

What cameras and other specifications does the Pixel 10 Pro have?
Google’s Pixel 10 Pro specifications page lists a three-camera rear system:
- 50 MP wide camera
- 48 MP ultrawide camera with Macro Focus
- 48 MP 5x telephoto camera
Google advertises Pro Res Zoom up to 100x. That is a maximum feature claim, not an assurance that images at every zoom level will retain the same detail or quality.

The specifications page also lists IP68 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Water resistance is not permanent protection against every exposure or kind of damage; these specifications alone do not establish warranty coverage for liquid damage.
What should buyers compare before choosing one?
- Size and handling: Choose between the 6.3-inch Pro and 6.8-inch Pro XL based on screen preference and comfort holding a larger phone.
- Charging: If wireless charging speed matters, note that Google specifically states 25W Qi2.2 support for the XL; do not assume the same rate for the smaller Pro. Check a charger’s output, magnetic alignment and explicit model compatibility.
- Camera use: The models share the Pro triple-camera positioning, including a 5x telephoto camera. Consider whether Google’s up-to-100x Pro Res Zoom claim fits your needs rather than treating the maximum zoom number as a quality measure.
- Storage and local pricing: Check the storage configurations and current prices available in your region. The launch prices above are US figures from 2025, not current offers.
Google said Pixel devices would receive seven years of Pixel Drops, operating-system updates and security updates. Its Pixel 10 launch offer included one year of Google AI Pro for Pro and Pro XL buyers, but that was a launch-period promotion and should not be assumed to be available now.
