You can make a PC setup more useful without replacing its processor, graphics card, or whole computer. These eight accessories address common bottlenecks—from missing ports and extra-screen needs to typing, pointing, and video calls. Which accessory fits the problem you want to solve?
Start with the limitation you notice every day. Docks add connections, a monitor changes your available screen space, and input or video-call peripherals can improve how you use the computer you already own. These products serve different needs; a larger or more expensive option is not automatically the better choice.

1. Ugreen Revodok NVMe Docking Station: add ports and storage flexibility
PCWorld described this dock with USB-C and USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet, a card reader, and an SSD slot. It can make sense if you want several kinds of connections from one dock, but the SSD slot is not a ready-to-use drive: you supply both the power source and the SSD. Check the exact dock configuration and your computer’s USB-C capabilities before ordering. 2. Ugreen 14-in-1 USB-C Docking Station: connect a broader desk setup
PCWorld’s description notes multiple video outputs, USB ports, and a card reader. This is the option to investigate when one connection point needs to serve several peripherals or screens. “14-in-1” alone does not tell you whether its display outputs, charging, or host compatibility suit your setup, so verify the exact listing and supported configuration. 3. Amazon Basics Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station: for a Thunderbolt-based multi-display setup
PCWorld included this dock among its Thunderbolt 4 options and noted that display cables must be supplied separately. Before buying, confirm your computer has Thunderbolt 4 support and that the dock’s display capabilities meet your intended monitor resolutions and arrangement. 4. BenQ 24-inch USB-C monitor: add a compact second screen
PCWorld described a 24-inch display with 1080p resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and USB-C connectivity. One important limitation: its USB-C connection does not provide enough power to recharge a laptop. 5. LG 34-inch ultrawide OLED: a premium screen upgrade
For a very different scale and class of upgrade, PCWorld listed an LG 34-inch ultrawide OLED with 3440×1440 resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. Its size, OLED panel, and refresh rate make it a premium comparison—not a like-for-like alternative to a modest second monitor. 6. Keychron V6 Max: change the typing experience
The V6 Max is a wireless mechanical keyboard example for someone looking to change their keyboard rather than their computer. TechRadar described customization for Windows and macOS. It listed the keyboard at $95.99, down from $113.99, in its October 7, 2026 event coverage. Layout and preferred typing feel are personal, so check the exact configuration before choosing. TechRadar described the MX Master 3S as a wireless mouse designed for productivity tasks. It may suit a desk where navigation and frequent computer work matter more than buying a new internal component. The October 7, 2026 deal guide listed $79.99, previously $99.99. 8. Logitech Brio 101: improve video calls with a 1080p webcam
TechRadar described the Brio 101 as a 1080p webcam with automatic light correction, a privacy shutter, and a built-in microphone. It is a straightforward peripheral to consider if your current camera or call setup is the weak link. TechRadar listed it for $24.99, previously $39.99, on October 7, 2026. What to check before you buy a dock or monitor
- Identify the host connection. USB-C describes a connector, not a guarantee of every capability. Check the computer’s specifications and the dock or monitor’s listing for supported video, data, and charging functions.
- Match display outputs to your screens. Count the displays you plan to use and confirm the dock supports the required output types and resolutions. Output count alone does not establish that every combination will work with your computer.
- Account for power and cables. Verify whether the dock needs a separate power source, whether it can charge the computer as you expect, and whether display cables are included. The Revodok SSD slot requires a separately supplied SSD and power source; the Amazon Basics dock’s display cables are separate.
- Compare the screen for its job. A 24-inch 1080p, 144Hz monitor and a 34-inch 3440×1440, 240Hz ultrawide OLED serve different needs. Also check whether USB-C provides the laptop charging you want; the cited BenQ model does not provide enough power to recharge a laptop.
