How to use the controls in a fight
- Choose the correct hotbar slot. Press the number displayed on the fruit, fighting style, sword, or gun you want to use.
- Face your target. Move the mouse to place the opponent in view. In Classic camera mode, hold the right mouse button while dragging if you need to turn the camera without changing movement direction.
- Start with movement and M1 attacks. Use W, A, S, and D to stay mobile, then click the left mouse button for basic attacks.
- Use a skill key. Press Z, X, C, V, or, where applicable, F. The move name and cooldown are normally shown on the selected item or ability interface.
- Escape or reposition. Press Q for a dash, or R for Flash Step if you have unlocked it. Avoid repeatedly pressing a movement ability while it is on cooldown.
- Activate defensive abilities deliberately. Use J for Aura and the key assigned to your available Instinct or Observation ability. If nothing happens, verify that the ability is unlocked and the correct item or style is equipped.
Camera, Shift Lock, and Roblox settings
Roblox’s in-experience settings affect how Blox Fruits feels even though they are not Blox Fruits attacks.
Changing the camera mode
Open the Roblox in-experience menu, then open Settings. The camera options are generally Classic and Follow. An experience can lock the camera mode, so an unavailable or ineffective option does not necessarily indicate a keyboard problem.
With Classic camera behavior, hold the right mouse button and drag to rotate the viewpoint. Use the mouse wheel to zoom. If enabled, Shift Lock Switch lets you toggle camera behavior with the Shift key. This option will not override a camera mode locked by the experience.

Finding Roblox’s control help
Open the in-experience menu and select Help to view keyboard shortcuts, mouse instructions, and other input guidance. The Experience Controls interface can include Chat, Voice chat, Quick Words, Report Abuse, Self View, Capture, Leaderboard, Emotes, Inventory, and Respawn.

What to do when a key does nothing
- Check the equipped item. A fruit skill will not trigger if you selected a sword or fighting style, and a sword skill will not trigger if the sword is not equipped.
- Check unlock requirements. Flash Step, Aura, Instinct, race abilities, and Air Jump are not available to every new character.
- Look at the skill display. The selected hotbar item should show its available moves and keys. If a key is greyed out, it may be cooling down or unavailable.
- Exit UI navigation mode. Roblox’s UI Navigation Toggle controls whether the backslash key (\) enters or exits UI navigation mode. If you accidentally enter that mode, normal gameplay keys may appear not to work. Press \ to leave it, or check the setting under the Roblox in-experience settings.
- Close chat and menus. Keyboard input may be going to the chat box or an open interface instead of your character.
- Check for another input device. Roblox supports keyboard, mouse, touch, gamepad, and other input types. A connected controller or recently used alternate device can affect the interface Roblox prioritizes. Disconnect an unused controller and test again.
- Review camera and accessibility settings. In Roblox settings, check camera, graphics, volume, and accessibility options. Relevant accessibility labels include Reduce Motion, Background Transparency, and UI Navigation Toggle.
- Reset only as a last resort. Use the in-experience menu’s Respawn or Reset Character option if your character is stuck. This does not repair a missing ability or change a keybind.
