Patriot Signature Line Premium DDR4 is affordable, desktop-only DDR4 memory for mainstream upgrades. At its 2019 launch, the range included 2400MHz and 2666MHz modules and kits, with a 16GB (2×8GB) 2666MHz kit carrying a $52.99 MSRP. The modules are non-ECC, unbuffered UDIMMs using JEDEC-qualified settings, so their advertised launch speeds did not require XMP.
What Patriot Signature Premium DDR4 is
Signature Line Premium DDR4 is a family of non-ECC, unbuffered desktop UDIMMs. Patriot positioned it for mainstream computer builds and upgrades, describing it as delivering “the quality, reliability and performance expected for today’s mainstream computer needs.”
The Premium designation mainly distinguishes these modules from earlier Patriot Signature products through the inclusion of heat spreaders. The launch report also noted a Patriot-provided warranty and an initial shipment lead time, but did not specify those terms in the available product details.

Why the launch speeds were easy to run
Patriot and the launch coverage identify the Signature Line UDIMMs as JEDEC-qualified. In practical terms, the rated launch settings were standard memory profiles rather than an overclocking profile that depended on Intel XMP. A compatible motherboard should therefore be able to configure the advertised setting through its normal DDR4 support, although the board’s own maximum speed and firmware still determine the result.
The documented 16GB kit specification was 2666MHz at 19-19-19-43 and 1.20V. Those numbers describe the module’s rated configuration; they are not an independent performance benchmark.

Check compatibility before buying
1. Confirm the memory type
Your motherboard must support desktop DDR4 DIMMs. Signature Premium modules are UDIMMs, not laptop SO-DIMMs, registered memory, or ECC memory. A laptop or mini-PC that requires SO-DIMM modules needs a different product.

2. Check capacity and slot limits
Verify the motherboard manual’s maximum memory capacity, supported capacity per slot, and number of DDR4 DIMM slots. A 2×8GB kit occupies two slots and can enable dual-channel operation on boards that support it; a single module uses one slot and may not provide the same memory-channel configuration.

3. Check supported speed
Look for 2400MHz or 2666MHz DDR4 support in the motherboard and processor specifications. The system can run memory below the module’s rating when required, but the final operating speed is limited by the platform.
4. Match the physical format
These are full-size desktop DIMMs. Do not substitute them for SODIMMs, and do not assume DDR4 modules fit a DDR3 or DDR5 motherboard; memory generations use different electrical and physical standards.

- Disclaimer: Maximum Speed requires overclocking/PC BIOS adjustments. Maximum speed and performance depend on system components, including motherboard and CPU
- Hand-sorted memory chips ensure high performance with generous overclocking headroom
- VENGEANCE LPX is optimized for wide compatibility with the latest Intel and AMD DDR4 motherboards
- A low-profile height of just 34mm ensures that VENGEANCE LPX even fits in most small-form-factor builds
- A solid aluminum heatspreader efficiently dissipates heat from each module so that they consistently run at high clock speeds
5. Use the exact SKU information
Patriot’s manufacturer SKU table lists each part number’s capacity, speed, CAS latency, voltage, and other identifying details. Match the SKU and specification to your board’s requirements rather than relying only on a generic “DDR4” label.
How to compare Signature Premium with another DDR4 kit
Compare the complete specification, not just the advertised capacity or MHz figure:
Best Value
- DDR4 memory kit capacity: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit
- Frequency: 2666MHz (PC4-21300)
- Timings: 19-19-19-43, Voltage: 1.2V
- 100% Tested, Limited lifetime warranty
- Technology : DDR 4 Non-ECC Unbuffered UDIMM, Form Factor: 288-Pin Unbuffered Dual In-Line
- Capacity: total gigabytes and capacity per module.
- Module count: single-module versus a matched dual-channel kit.
- Rated speed and timings: frequency together with CAS latency and the full timing set.
- Voltage: the voltage attached to the quoted speed and timings.
- Form factor: desktop UDIMM versus laptop SO-DIMM.
- Features: heat spreader design, ECC status, and buffered or unbuffered operation.
- Warranty and price: current seller terms and current regional pricing, rather than the 2019 launch MSRP.
Availability and what the old price means today
The $52.99 figure for the 16GB 2666MHz kit and the $27.99 4GB figure are useful benchmarks for how Patriot positioned the line in May 2019. They should not be treated as today’s prices. Retail pricing, sellers, stock, and regional availability change independently of the original launch announcement.
At least one Walmart listing has shown a related 32GB (2×16GB) 3200MHz configuration, part number PSP432G3200KH1. That demonstrates that a later, faster configuration has appeared in retail, but a listing is not a guarantee of stock, seller identity, or price when you purchase. Verify those details on the live product page.
Who should choose it
Signature Premium makes sense when you need straightforward DDR4 desktop capacity, your platform supports the listed speed, and you value standard JEDEC operation over enthusiast overclocking features. It is less suitable when your system requires ECC, registered memory, laptop SO-DIMMs, DDR3, or DDR5, or when you specifically need tightly tuned low-latency performance validated by independent testing. No independent test result for this line is established here, so expectations should remain tied to its published specifications and mainstream-upgrade purpose.
The Bottom Line
Patriot Signature Premium DDR4 was a low-cost, plug-and-play desktop DDR4 range: the 16GB (2×8GB) 2666MHz kit launched at a $52.99 MSRP with 1.20V and 19-19-19-43 timings. Confirm DDR4 UDIMM support, slot and capacity limits, and current seller pricing before buying; laptop users need compatible SO-DIMMs instead.
