Industries, IT and Artificial Intelligence Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty visited the Sandbox Mini Tech Park site at Government Cyberpark in Kozhikode to inspect construction progress, according to Mirror Now‘s report updated October 6, 2026. The report does not specify the visit date. The project is described as Government Cyberpark’s first private co-developer project, but published accounts differ on its planned area.
What is the Sandbox Mini Tech Park at Government Cyberpark?
Sandbox is developing a technology workspace within Government Cyberpark, Kozhikode. Kerala IT described it on March 9, 2026, as the park’s first project involving a private co-developer. The release says Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited (KITFRA) handed the land over to the Sandbox team.
The planned workspace is intended for technology companies, global enterprises, startups and global capability centres. Kerala IT’s description includes coworking space, a café-cum-lounge, breakout areas, phone-booth pods, founder-mentor cabins and a small incubation bay. These are announced design features; the release does not establish that they are complete or open.
Why did the minister visit?
Mirror Now reported that Kunhalikutty visited the site to review construction progress. Its October 6, 2026, report does not give the exact date of the visit or specify a construction milestone. It also contains no verbatim statement from the minister or another named official about the inspection.
