Orbitals received version 1.0.5 on October 6, 2026. The patch notes describe bug fixes across collision, camera behavior, progression, level-specific interactions, loading, online scoring and dialogue, along with an adjustment to make the opening puzzle in Frozen Depths less confusing. They do not announce new levels or modes.
What changed in Orbitals version 1.0.5?
Nintendo Life’s patch-note report, dated October 6, 2026, lists fixes and adjustments across the game. The notes describe intended changes; they do not provide independent test results or establish that every player will see the same improvement.
- Movement and presentation: Various collision and camera fixes, plus a fix for half the host player’s screen turning black when leaving the ship.
- Progression and controls: A fix for players being sent to the main menu instead of the credits after completing the game, and another for getting stuck in the gunner seat after installing Push Cannon. The patch also fixes ground-pound controls in Forge.
- Level-specific behavior: Fixes address the laser in Frozen Depths’ hot-floor section, unusual mushroom behavior in Secret Gardens, and oxygen depletion failing to kill the player during the Capy rescue section of Secret Gardens.
- Loading: The notes say long loading times were reduced in Asteroid Core levels and Frozen Depths.
- Items and interface details: Fixes involve the Reactor Cassette, Liquid launcher, Supply Station parking spot and Jump-pack text. Emote bubbles and character icons are restored after the Forge section.
- Online play and effects: The patch addresses Slap-stick score synchronization and confetti timing, an Animated Pile Of Junk animation, and Laser Tag respawn visual effects.
- Dialogue and localisation: It lists general localisation fixes, a fix for repeated Maki dialogue, and increased character dialogue volume during boss fights.
What changed in Frozen Depths?
Alongside the bug fixes, version 1.0.5 adjusts the opening Frozen Depths puzzle to make it less confusing. The notes do not describe a new puzzle, level, or game mode.
What is Orbitals and which platform is it for?
Orbitals is an asymmetric two-player co-op puzzle adventure for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo describes local and online play, with explorers Maki and Omura using character-specific tools and piloting a ship. Nintendo lists Kepler Interactive as publisher, Shapefarm as developer, and September 3, 2026, as the release date. Nintendo’s Orbitals listing provides the platform and game details.

How can you install the update?
The consulted patch-note report and Nintendo listing do not establish an installation path or region-by-region rollout timing. Check the game’s update status on your own Switch 2; availability may depend on when the update is offered for your region. The sources also do not say that version 1.0.5 is included on a physical game card.
