To mirror an OPPO phone to a TV, enable the TV’s wireless projection feature, then turn on TV Projection or Screencast on the phone and select the TV. On ColorOS 16 and later, try Quick Settings or Settings > Device Connect > TV; on earlier versions, look for Phone Screen Projection or Screencast. To stop mirroring, turn off the active projection tile or toggle. The names and exact paths vary by ColorOS version, phone model, region, and software build.

What does Screencast do on an OPPO phone?

OPPO Screencast wirelessly projects the phone’s display to a compatible TV, projector, monitor, or other receiving display. Depending on the phone’s software and the receiver’s capabilities, you may be able to mirror the whole screen or cast only a selected app.

OPPO’s feature documentation and support guidance use several names for this kind of connection, including Screencast, screen projection, wireless screen mirroring, and multi-screen interaction. The TV may use a different label again, such as Miracast or Wireless Projection. These names describe related projection options, but they do not guarantee that every phone and receiver combination is compatible.

OPPO Care explains Screencast as mirroring what you see on your device to a TV so you can view it on a larger screen. In practical terms, the phone initiates a wireless connection with a receiver that supports a compatible projection method. This is different from simply choosing a TV as a display inside an app: Screencast can show the phone interface, while an app-only casting mode, when available, limits what is projected.

Where is Screencast on ColorOS?

Start with the path for your ColorOS generation, but check for both TV Projection and Screencast if the first label is missing. OPPO’s newer interface and its feature documentation do not always use the same label.

ColorOS version Quick Settings or Control Center Settings path
ColorOS 16 and later Swipe down from the upper-right corner and tap TV Projection. Settings > Device Connect > TV > Search for Display Devices
Earlier ColorOS releases Open Control Center, expand it if needed, and tap Phone Screen Projection. Settings > Connections & Shares > Mobile Screen Projection > Search for Screen Projection Devices
Some older models or builds Look in Control Center for a Screencast tile. Settings > Connection & sharing > Screencast or Settings > Other Wireless Connections > Screencast; the available wording varies.

On some ColorOS 16-and-later phones, the Quick Settings label is TV Projection, while OPPO’s manual refers to the feature as Screencast. If a path in the table does not match your phone, use Settings search for “projection,” “screen,” or “Screencast,” or look for a similarly named tile in Quick Settings or Control Center. Menu paths can differ by model, region, and update.

For a quick search, swipe down from the top edge to open the controls available on your phone. On a ColorOS 16-and-later device, OPPO’s current guidance places Quick Settings at the upper-right swipe. On older releases, the projection tile may be in Control Center and may not be visible until you expand the panel. If you do not see the tile, open Settings and follow the matching route in the table; an absent shortcut does not necessarily mean the phone has no projection feature.

How do I turn on Screencast on my OPPO phone?

Before connecting, make sure the phone and receiver are on the same Wi-Fi network and that the receiver’s wireless projection screen is awake and enabled. Then search for the TV from the projection control on the OPPO phone.

  1. Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network. Use the same regular network, not a guest network that may isolate devices from one another.
  2. Enable projection on the TV, projector, or monitor. Open its connection or input menu and start the feature called, for example, Screen Mirroring, Wireless Screen Projection, Mirror Projection, Multi-screen Interaction, or Miracast. Keep that screen open while the phone searches.
  3. Open the OPPO projection control. On ColorOS 16 and later, swipe down from the upper-right corner to open Quick Settings and tap TV Projection. Alternatively, go to Settings > Device Connect > TV > Search for Display Devices. On earlier releases, open Control Center and expand it if needed, then tap Phone Screen Projection; or use the applicable Settings > Connections & Shares or Screencast path above.
  4. Search for the receiver. If you opened the feature through Settings, tap Search for Display Devices, Search for Screen Projection Devices, or the equivalent command shown on your phone.
  5. Select the TV or display from the results. Follow any on-screen connection prompt on the phone or receiver. Once connected, the phone screen should appear on the larger display.

OPPO describes Screencast as mirroring the device to a TV so content can be viewed on a larger screen. This is a screen-projection connection, not simply selecting the TV as a separate display; what you see and can control depends on whether you are mirroring the whole phone or using an app-only option supported by your software.

Before you search

Prepare the receiving display first. A TV that supports wireless projection may still need its feature opened or switched on before it advertises itself to nearby devices. The control might be under a connection, network, input, or screen-sharing menu, and its exact label depends on the TV or projector. Leave the relevant screen active, then start discovery from the phone. If you search before the receiver is ready, it may not appear in the results.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

Check the Wi-Fi connection on both devices rather than assuming they are on the same network because they are in the same room. OPPO’s setup instructions call for the same Wi-Fi network; a guest network can keep connected devices from finding one another. The documentation does not establish one universal connection method for every setup without Wi-Fi, so follow the instructions for the particular phone and receiver if a shared network is unavailable.

Which projection option should I use?

The best route depends on the ColorOS version, the receiving display, and whether you need to show everything on the phone or only one app. This comparison is a guide to the distinctions, not a promise that every option appears on every device.

Choice What it means What to check
TV Projection on ColorOS 16 and later The newer interface’s projection control; the feature documentation may call it Screencast. Use the TV Projection tile or the Device Connect route, and check the receiver’s own wireless projection mode.
Phone Screen Projection or Screencast on earlier ColorOS Older interface labels for finding a compatible display and starting a session. Try Control Center or the matching Connections & Shares or Screencast settings route.
Full-screen mirroring Projects the phone display, which can include notifications and calls. Review privacy controls before sharing in a public or shared setting.
Cast app screen only Projects a selected app while you use other apps on the phone, if supported. Look for this option in the active Screencast controls; availability and full-screen behavior depend on the software and receiver.
Built-in TV projection or Miracast adapter A TV may have a compatible projection feature built in; an adapter may be an option if it does not. Verify compatibility with the phone, ColorOS build, region, and display before purchasing an adapter.

Labels such as Miracast, Chromecast-compatible projection, and Wireless Projection can refer to different receiver methods. Do not assume that a device which supports one casting standard will appear in OPPO’s screen-projection search or support every feature. Check the receiver’s specifications and the phone’s available controls rather than relying on the word “cast” alone.

How do I turn off screen mirroring on OPPO?

Turn off the active projection control on the phone—the same tile or setting area used to start the session. The label may be TV Projection, Phone Screen Projection, or Screencast.

  1. Open Quick Settings or Control Center, or return to the projection page in Settings.
  2. Tap the active projection tile or toggle to disable it. If the settings page shows the connected display, use its available disconnect control or switch projection off.
  3. Check that the TV no longer shows the phone screen.

Not every OPPO phone has a separate, universal Disconnect button. If you cannot find one, switch off the active projection tile or setting and confirm the session has ended on the receiver.

If you want to stop mirroring because you are finished sharing, turn off the phone control rather than relying only on the TV’s input menu. If the display still shows a connection screen after you switch projection off, check the phone’s tile or settings page again and verify that the active session has ended. The exact confirmation text may vary; the useful check is whether the TV has stopped displaying the phone screen.

Why can’t my OPPO phone find the TV?

Most discovery problems come down to the receiver not being ready, the devices being on different networks, or the TV and phone using different projection standards. Check each item before assuming the phone is faulty.

  • The TV is asleep or not in projection mode. Wake the receiver and open its wireless display or screen-mirroring screen before starting the phone’s search.
  • The devices are not on the same network. Confirm the phone and receiver are connected to the same non-guest Wi-Fi network. A guest network may prevent devices from discovering one another.
  • The TV calls the feature something else. Look through the TV’s settings for Miracast, Wireless Projection, Screen Mirroring, Mirror Projection, or Multi-screen Interaction. The receiver’s menu may not use the word “Screencast.”
  • The phone is searching from a different menu than expected. ColorOS 16-and-later phones may show TV Projection; older versions may use Phone Screen Projection or Screencast. Try the alternative Settings route for your software generation.
  • Discovery remains stuck. Restart the TV or projector and try searching again with its projection feature enabled.
  • The receiver may not support a compatible wireless display feature. Check the receiver’s manual or specifications. A Miracast wireless display adapter for TV may be an option if the TV lacks compatible support, but confirm it works with your phone, software version, and display before buying; an adapter is not a guaranteed fix for every setup.

Compatibility can depend on the phone model, ColorOS version, region, receiver brand and technology, and network configuration. OPPO’s compatibility guidance does not establish that every generic adapter—or every device labeled as a casting receiver—will work with every OPPO phone.

A practical discovery checklist

  1. Wake the TV or projector and switch to its wireless projection screen.
  2. Check that the phone and receiver are on the same non-guest Wi-Fi network.
  3. Open the projection control that matches the ColorOS version, including the older Control Center or Settings route if needed.
  4. Look for the TV’s own name for the feature, such as Miracast or Multi-screen Interaction, and make sure that feature is enabled.
  5. Restart the receiver if it still does not appear, then search again.
  6. If the display lacks compatible wireless projection, check its specifications and consider a compatible Miracast wireless display adapter for TV only after verifying it supports the complete setup.

This order checks readiness, network, menu location, and receiver compatibility before moving to accessories. Buying an adapter is a conditional option, not a universal repair: compatibility can vary with the OPPO phone, software build, region, display, and adapter technology.

Can I hide notifications while mirroring?

Yes, where the ColorOS version provides the relevant privacy controls. Set them before sharing your screen in a classroom, meeting, workplace, or public setting, because a full-screen projection can show notifications and incoming calls on the larger display.

Hide notifications during a session

Open the active Screencast or projection controls and turn on Hide notifications if that option is available. The label and availability can vary across ColorOS versions.

Check Screen sharing protection

Some supported versions offer a broader control at Settings > Security & privacy > Screen sharing protection. Use it if it appears on your phone; its availability is not universal. Before beginning, consider what is visible on the home screen and in any app you plan to show, not just notification banners.

Privacy controls are worth checking before you tap the TV’s name, particularly if other people can see the display. A full-screen session may expose more than the particular photo, webpage, or presentation you intended to show. Use Hide notifications where available, check for Screen sharing protection on supported versions, and choose app-only casting if the phone offers it and that is sufficient for the task.

Can I cast with the phone screen off?

Some supported ColorOS versions provide Screen-off casting. Start projection, open the active Screencast controls, and enable Screen-off casting if the option is available. OPPO’s ColorOS manuals describe it as a way to let the phone screen turn off without interrupting casting and to save phone power; availability depends on the software version.

Look for the option after the connection is active, in the Screencast controls. It is not a universal switch on every OPPO phone, and the feature is specifically described for supported projection sessions. If it is absent, do not assume the phone can keep a projection running with its screen off; check the options provided for your software version.

Can I cast only one app instead of my whole screen?

Some supported versions offer Cast app screen only in the active Screencast controls. If available, select it to project a chosen app while continuing to use other apps on the phone. This is different from mirroring the entire display, so check which mode is active before sharing sensitive content.

Full-screen behavior can also depend on the receiver’s supported projection technology. Some combinations may show controls such as Aspect ratio or Adapt to TV; these options are not available on every phone or display.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use full-screen mirroring when you need to show the phone interface, and app-only casting when you want to keep using other apps without projecting the whole display and the feature is available. App-only casting does not make every receiver compatible, and the supported choices can depend on both the ColorOS version and the TV or projector. If the projected picture does not fit the display, check for an Aspect ratio or Adapt to TV option rather than expecting those settings on every combination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does OPPO Screencast work without Wi-Fi?

OPPO’s setup guidance describes connecting the phone and receiver to the same Wi-Fi network. It does not establish a universal offline or direct-connection method, so check the instructions for your specific phone and display if Wi-Fi is unavailable.

Will Screencast play sound through the TV?

Audio behavior is not specified as universal in OPPO’s projection guidance. Whether sound comes from the TV or phone can depend on the app, phone software, and receiving display.

Can I use OPPO Screencast with a projector?

Yes, if the projector supports a compatible wireless screen-projection feature. Enable that feature on the projector and search for it from the phone just as you would with a TV.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why is my TV not listed even though it supports screen mirroring?

Make sure the TV is awake and its wireless projection feature is open, both devices are on the same non-guest Wi-Fi network, and the phone is searching from the correct ColorOS menu. The TV may use a name such as Miracast, Wireless Projection, or Multi-screen Interaction.

Where is Screencast on ColorOS 16?

On ColorOS 16 and later, look for TV Projection in Quick Settings after swiping down from the upper-right corner, or open Settings > Device Connect > TV > Search for Display Devices. OPPO’s feature documentation may still call the capability Screencast.

How do I stop my OPPO phone from mirroring to the TV?

Open Quick Settings, Control Center, or the projection Settings page and turn off the active TV Projection, Phone Screen Projection, or Screencast tile or toggle. Confirm that the TV no longer shows the phone screen; a separate Disconnect button is not available on every model.

Can I keep casting when my OPPO screen is off?

Some supported ColorOS versions offer Screen-off casting in the active Screencast controls. Enable it after starting projection if the option appears on your phone; it is not available on every version.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How do I hide notifications while screen mirroring?

Open the active projection controls and enable Hide notifications if available. Some supported versions also offer Settings > Security & privacy > Screen sharing protection. Check these controls before mirroring in a shared setting.

Will a Miracast adapter work with any OPPO phone?

Not necessarily. An adapter may help if the TV lacks compatible wireless-display support, but verify compatibility with the OPPO model, ColorOS version, region, display, and adapter before buying.

The Bottom Line

For current OPPO phones, start with TV Projection in Quick Settings or Settings > Device Connect > TV; on older ColorOS versions, look for Phone Screen Projection or Screencast. Put the phone and compatible receiver on the same Wi-Fi network and enable the receiver’s projection mode before searching. To stop, disable the active projection control. Before sharing, check notification privacy, and use Screen-off casting or app-only projection only if your ColorOS version provides those options.
