Who attended?
The Foundation reported that 54% of attendees held technical positions and that developers accounted for more than a quarter of attendees. Those are separate descriptions of attendees’ roles, not percentages that should be added together.
The report’s rounded regional shares show a predominantly North American audience, with participants from other regions as well:
| Region | Share of attendees reported by The Linux Foundation |
|---|---|
| North America | 77% |
| Europe | 11% |
| Asia | 8% |
| South America | 2% |
| Oceania | 1% |
| Africa | 1% |
The regional shares are the rounded values printed in the report.
What was on the program?
Before the event, The Linux Foundation announced a schedule of 300 talks across keynotes, conference sessions, tutorials, and birds-of-a-feather (BoF) sessions. That is the announced schedule count, not a figure in the post-event attendance report. Examples in the announcement ranged from LinuxCon’s “Memory Folios” to a CloudOpen session about a petascale telemetry backend with OpenTelemetry and an Embedded Linux Conference session on V4L2 M2M as a driver framework for video-processing IP.

The umbrella included events such as LinuxCon, Embedded Linux Conference, SupplyChainSecurityCon, CloudOpen, OSPOCon, Emerging OS Forum, and ContainerCon. The April 21, 2022 schedule announcement describes the range of the conference program.
Why did security feature prominently?
Open-source security was a visible theme across several summit components. In a July 26, 2022 recap, The Linux Foundation highlighted OpenSSF Day, Critical Software Summit, SupplyChainSecurityCon, and Global Security Vulnerability Summit. The Foundation characterized the discussions as a community effort involving stakeholders, collaboration, tools, and training; this is its description of the program, rather than an independent assessment of the event’s impact.
