For an always-on YouTube channel playing uploaded videos, StreamNeo is the first alternative to consider: it runs from the cloud, supports looping and playlists, and streams your upload at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot. For scheduled events with a start time, Restream has documented automatic event starts; StreamYard is worth a look if you also need its browser studio. OneStream Live remains a reasonable fit if its scheduling, playlist and YouTube-only 24/7 options match your needs.
Choose by the kind of prerecorded stream you need
These products solve overlapping but different problems. A scheduled event starts at a particular time; a loop or 24/7 stream is intended to keep playing continuously. Before switching, decide whether the stream must start unattended, repeat one video or rotate a playlist, run for a defined duration or indefinitely, and whether you need guests or other live-production tools.
- Continuous YouTube playback: StreamNeo is #1 for this use: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, loops them or plays playlists, and supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with the first day free.
- Scheduled prerecorded events: Restream documents automatic starts at a chosen time and finite looping options.
- Prerecorded streams plus a browser studio: StreamYard combines listed prerecorded-hour allowances with a studio-oriented product.
- Encoder-driven production: OBS and other encoders offer a hands-on production route, but an encoder feed is not the same as uploading a file to an unattended cloud scheduler.
These are fit-based options, not an exhaustive ranking of every service. Features and prices can change; verify the current terms for your region and billing period before buying.

These are volatile limits; check the current help page if either cap affects your schedule. Restream scheduling and tier details · Restream looping details.
3. StreamYard: studio-first, with listed prerecorded-hour allowances
StreamYard’s plan page emphasizes a browser-based studio, guests, recording and multistream features. The page accessed October 3, 2026 lists prerecorded-stream allowances of two hours on Core and four hours on Advanced. The available destinations and participant limits vary by tier. Its displayed plan prices may vary by campaign, seasonal offer, renewal terms or custom offer, so the page is a snapshot rather than a dependable long-term price quote. This can make sense if you need studio production as well as prerecorded streams; it is not the same proposition as an always-on cloud loop. See StreamYard’s current plans.

4. OBS or another encoder: hands-on control, not file scheduling by itself
OneStream documents an encoder workflow compatible with OBS, XSplit, vMix and Wirecast: the encoder sends a live feed to OneStream, which can then multicast it. This is useful context if you already produce through an encoder. It does not establish that OBS alone uploads a video and schedules unattended cloud playback. An encoder-based setup requires the equipment or computer running the feed to remain part of the workflow. OneStream’s encoder overview.

How to schedule a prerecorded YouTube stream
With a cloud scheduling service
- Check channel readiness. Live streaming must be enabled for the YouTube channel. Restream’s YouTube setup documentation explains its connection requirements; confirm the channel can stream before preparing a paid event. Restream’s YouTube setup guidance.
- Connect the YouTube destination. Authorize the service or provide the required stream key according to its current setup flow. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to the channel.
- Upload the recording and check its limits. Compare the video’s duration and resolution with the service’s library, event and plan caps. Do not assume a general multistream destination count applies to prerecorded events.
- Set the event details and time zone. Choose the title, description, destination and start time. If you need a playlist, loop or advance event post, verify that the service supports that specific behavior for YouTube.
- Preview the scheduled event. Confirm the correct video, channel, start time and audio before leaving it unattended. A test on the intended destination can reveal account or connection issues before the scheduled start.
- Check the result in YouTube. Verify that the event started and that the video, playback and live chat behavior meet your needs. Do not infer archive behavior or monetization eligibility from a scheduler’s feature list.
Technical settings and YouTube considerations
Restream’s YouTube setup article presents the following as YouTube-oriented encoder recommendations: H.264 video, resolution from 240p to 2160p, frame rates up to 60 fps, bitrate varying by resolution and frame rate, and AAC or MP3 audio. The precise bitrate values depend on the selected resolution and frame rate; use the current table on the linked page rather than applying one bitrate to every video. These are recommendations as presented by Restream, not an independently verified or direct YouTube policy statement.
A cloud file scheduler and an encoder workflow can handle video differently, so do not assume that settings exposed for a live encoder apply unchanged to an uploaded prerecorded file. Check the selected provider’s current accepted formats, maximum duration, resolution and audio requirements before scheduling.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsScheduling a video does not establish that it is eligible for YouTube monetization or satisfies every content policy. Rights to the audio and video, and YouTube’s rules on reused content and monetization, are separate questions from whether a service can transmit the file. Check current YouTube policies and your channel’s eligibility rather than relying on a scheduling feature or monetization toggle.
Compare the services against your actual requirements
| Decision factor | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Unattended start | Will the event begin at the scheduled time if you are offline, or must a computer keep sending an encoder feed? |
| Duration and storage | Check maximum event duration, library/storage allowance, file retention and whether allowance applies per video or across the account. |
| Repeat behavior | Distinguish a finite number of repeats from continuous playback; confirm whether playlists work and whether these features are limited to an add-on or platform. |
| Quality | Check accepted resolution, frame rate and whether the service re-encodes the upload or imposes tier-specific caps. |
| Destination | Verify support for prerecorded events on the exact platform you need. General multistream support does not prove prerecorded-event support at each destination. |
| Production tools | Decide whether you need guests, overlays or live studio controls, or simply want a file to play at a scheduled time. |
| Event behavior | Check whether a service creates an advance event, preserves an archive or supports live chat in the way your audience expects. |
| True cost | Compare the current effective cost for the necessary video hours, resolution, storage and loop features, including add-ons and billing period. |
