The OnePlus 11 5G earned praise as a premium Android phone with a strong display, long battery life, fast wired charging and flagship-class performance—especially at its $699 U.S. launch price in 2023. That price is historical, not a current offer. For a buyer considering one in 2026, condition, actual price, remaining software support, carrier compatibility and local availability matter as much as the original value proposition.
What the OnePlus 11 5G offered at launch
OnePlus announced the OnePlus 11 5G in the U.S. and Canada in February 2023. The U.S. starting price was $699, according to OnePlus’s launch announcement. That figure explains why launch-period reviewers described the phone as a value-oriented flagship; it should not be read as today’s price.
OnePlus’s U.S. product page presents the 11 as a premium smartphone. Specifications can differ between regional variants, so check the exact model and market rather than assuming every OnePlus 11 has identical features. The company’s official user manual is useful for ownership and operation, but it cautions that software, features and the user experience may change after updates.
What reviewers liked—and what they thought it lacked
Launch-period reviews generally praised the display, battery life, performance and charging proposition. WIRED called it a nice option at its $699 launch price and highlighted battery life; Tom’s Guide praised the display and battery while identifying charging and camera tradeoffs; Tech Advisor likewise emphasized value against contemporaries while noting omissions. These are reviewers’ assessments from 2023, not independent tests conducted for this article.
#1 Best Overall
- Network Support: Unlocked
- Storage Capacity: 256 GB
- Color: Black
- Cosmetic Condition: Grade A
- Screen Size: 6.7 in.
Strengths reviewers emphasized
- Display: Tom’s Guide singled it out as a strength of the phone.
- Battery life: WIRED and Tom’s Guide praised battery life, without establishing a single universal runtime figure.
- Performance and charging: Reviewers liked the overall performance and fast wired-charging proposition.
- Launch value: The $699 U.S. starting price helped make a premium feature set more compelling than similarly positioned launch-era phones.
Tradeoffs reviewers identified
- No wireless charging: WIRED, Tom’s Guide and Tech Advisor noted this omission. If wireless charging is part of your daily routine, it is a meaningful drawback.
- Camera compromises: Tom’s Guide pointed to the absence of a longer telephoto option compared with a Pixel alternative. WIRED considered the Galaxy S23 a stronger camera choice. These are launch-era comparisons, not a ranking of phones available in 2026.
- Durability and water resistance: WIRED and Tech Advisor identified advantages for competitors in durability or waterproofing. Check the exact model’s specifications and condition rather than assuming equivalent protection.
Digital Trends reviewer Ryan Haines Boxall summed up his launch-period opinion by praising the phone’s design, performance, camera character, battery, charging and starting price as “a real return to form.” That is a reviewer’s characterization, not a measured result.
How it compared with launch-era alternatives
The Galaxy S23 and Pixel 7 appeared in reviewers’ contemporaneous comparisons. WIRED pointed readers toward the Pixel 7 for software and the Galaxy S23 for camera or durability advantages. Tom’s Guide also highlighted wireless charging and a longer telephoto option on a Pixel alternative. Those comments help explain the OnePlus 11’s original tradeoffs; they do not establish which phone is the better purchase in 2026.

Software support: what OnePlus promised
In its 2023 announcement, OnePlus said the OnePlus 11 5G would be eligible for four major OxygenOS updates and five years of security updates. This is the company’s announced eligibility policy, not proof of which updates a particular device has received or how many remain. The announcement does not establish a current rollout schedule for every region or model. Before buying, check OnePlus’s current support information for the exact variant and confirm its update status with the seller.

- 6.49 Inch Full HD+ Display: Features a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and vivid visuals
- Octa-Core Processor: Runs at lightning-fast speeds for seamless multitasking

Does the OnePlus 11 still make sense to buy in 2026?
It may suit someone who wants a large-screen premium Android phone and values battery life, performance and fast wired charging more than wireless charging or the strongest camera and durability features. The original value case depended heavily on its $699 U.S. launch price; a used or refurbished unit is a different decision, with its own condition, price and support risks.
Availability and service also need a regional check. A July 2026 TechRadar report said OnePlus was leaving device sales in the U.S. and Europe, while existing customers should continue to receive support and updates. This is a dated secondary report, not an official confirmation cited here. Verify current sales and support information for your country before relying on it.
