Is a magnetic third hand useful for soldering or PCB work?
A helping-hands fixture can be useful when you need to keep a small part or workpiece in place while working on it. The OF-M4.4’s stated parallel jaws and adjustable magnetic joint are intended to support that kind of positioning. The product information does not establish that it is suitable for every PCB size or shape, nor does it give a maximum load or a tested stability rating. Check the 14 mm jaw opening against the parts you intend to hold.
For a PCB holder or another third hand, compare the jaw opening and shape, whether the jaws are lined, how the joints position and lock, the base’s size and weight, included clamps, portability and storage, and whether the maker publishes measurable load or stability specifications. These criteria help distinguish a stated feature from a performance claim.
