The headline claim that “old money” investors have stronger Bitcoin “diamond hands” cannot be independently verified from the available source material. The executive and original article behind it are unidentified, and no comparative data was found to show that wealthy traditional investors hold Bitcoin through downturns better than other holders.

What can be verified about the headline?

The exact headline and its source could not be confirmed in searches for the wording and close variants. The speaker, publication date, full quote, and evidence for the comparison therefore remain unknown. There is no verified statistic or attributable statement supporting the central claim.

“Diamond hands” is informal language for holding an asset through volatility rather than selling. In this headline, “old money” is not defined: it could refer to wealthy families, traditional financial institutions, or another group. Without a source explaining the term and presenting evidence, the wording should be treated as an unverified claim, not a finding about investor behavior.

What BingX material is available—and what it does not establish

Cointelegraph published a commissioned BingX interview on May 20, 2024, titled “What’s in store for crypto exchanges this bull run — Interview with BingX”. The page identifies BingX as the commissioning party and quotes chief product officer Vivien Lin about the exchange’s trading products and social trading. It does not connect Lin to the “old money” headline or substantiate its comparison.

A BingX announcement published August 3, 2026, named Kevin Lee as the company’s chief strategy officer. That announcement provides role context only; it does not identify Lee as the headline’s speaker or verify the quote. Neither source can be used to attribute the claim to Lin or Lee.

What evidence would support a meaningful comparison?

A credible comparison would need to define both the investor group and what “holding stronger” means, then measure behavior consistently across groups and a stated market period. Useful details would include:

  • Cohort definition: specify whether “old money” means families, funds, institutions, or another identifiable group.
  • Observable behavior: examine measures such as realized sales, holding periods, or wallet movements rather than treating a balance as proof of conviction.
  • Comparable period and data: state the market period sampled and use comparable data for each cohort.
  • Limits of wallet data: an address is not necessarily one person or investor, and a wallet balance alone does not establish who controls it or why it has not moved.

No such named statistic or attributable quote was found for the headline’s comparison. That absence in the reviewed results does not prove that relevant data does not exist; it means the claim cannot be presented as established on the evidence currently identified.

What a reader should take from the claim

Until the original report or interview is located, the headline should not be used as evidence that wealthy traditional investors are more resilient Bitcoin holders. The source material supports only limited BingX context, not the speaker’s identity or the claim itself. It also does not support an investment recommendation or a prediction about Bitcoin prices.
