NVIDIA announced the GeForce GTX 460 on July 12, 2010, with two launch configurations: a 768MB card using a 192-bit memory interface and a 1GB card using a 256-bit interface. ZOTAC’s Synergy Edition and EVGA’s Superclocked EE show why “GTX 460” alone is not enough to identify a card: memory, clocks, cooling design and part number depend on the exact model.
What NVIDIA announced at the GTX 460 debut
NVIDIA introduced the GTX 460 on July 12, 2010, as an addition to its Fermi-class GPU lineup. The company’s launch release described two memory configurations:

The availability wording and prices are historical launch statements, not current stock or value information. NVIDIA’s release also lists 336 CUDA cores and 56 texture units for the GTX 460.
Why the exact GTX 460 model matters
The launch name describes a GPU family, not one universal card specification. Even the two NVIDIA launch configurations differ in both memory capacity and bus width. Board partners then sold named editions with their own clocks, cooler arrangements, connectors and part numbers. Check the full model identifier before comparing cards or assessing a listing.

ZOTAC GTX 460 Synergy Edition specifications
ZOTAC’s Synergy Edition product page lists a 768MB card with a 192-bit memory bus, 336 CUDA cores, a 675MHz engine clock and a 3600MHz memory clock. It lists dual DVI and mini-HDMI outputs, two 6-pin power inputs and a recommended 450W power supply.
There is an important model-document distinction: ZOTAC’s specification PDF identifies SKU ZT-40404-10P and gives a 710MHz core clock. That is the value stated for that SKU in the PDF; it should not be combined with the product page’s 675MHz figure as if both described one universal Synergy Edition clock specification.

EVGA GTX 460 Superclocked EE
EVGA’s archived product sheet identifies the GTX 460 Superclocked EE (External Exhaust), part number 01G-P3-1373, with 336 CUDA cores and 1024MB of GDDR5 memory. The sheet establishes the identity and listed specifications of that product; it does not establish the condition or performance of any particular used card.
EVGA’s July 12, 2010 launch announcement promoted DirectX 11 support and listed CUDA, PhysX, PureVideo HD, two-way SLI, 3D Vision Surround, PCI Express 2.0, two dual-link HDCP DVI-I connectors and one mini-HDMI connector. Its tessellation comparison is a vendor claim tied to the test setup described in that announcement, not a general performance result across games or systems.
