The original NuPhy Field75 HE is a strong wired gaming keyboard for players who want adjustable Hall-effect actuation, Rapid Trigger, and eight dedicated programmable controls. Its gaming performance is highly regarded by RTINGS, but the 8,000Hz polling headline alone is not a reason to buy it: the practical case is its configurable input and control layout. Skip it if you need wireless use, shine-through legends, or a gentler typing feel. NuPhy now sells a separate Field75 HE V2, so check the revision before comparing prices or specifications.

What the original Field75 HE offers

The Field75 HE is a wired gaming keyboard with magnetic Hall-effect switches. It is distinct from the non-HE Field75: do not assume that model’s switch technology or wireless specifications apply here. The HE’s main draw is control over how key presses register, rather than a conventional fixed actuation point.

RTINGS reviewed the original on October 11, 2024, and modified its review on January 21, 2026, using Methodology v1.4.3. Reviewers Sophie Arsenault, Gregory Vodden, and Yannick Khong called it “an amazing gaming keyboard,” citing low, consistent latency, excellent build quality, and extensive adjustment options. Those are RTINGS’ test findings and editorial judgment, not a claim of testing by this publication. Read RTINGS’ original Field75 HE review.

Adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger

NuPhy’s product information lists the original with Rapid Trigger adjustable as low as 0.02mm. Rapid Trigger changes when a key resets as it moves, which can make repeated presses more responsive in games that reward quick inputs. NuPhy describes its browser-based NuPhyIO utility as supporting adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger visualization, key remapping, macros, and modes or layers. See NuPhy’s Field75 HE and V2 product information.

  • Hall Effect Sensors: Field75 HE V2 features magnetic switches and Hall Effect sensors for ultra-fast response and precise actuation. Supports Rapid Trigger technology, delivering a competitive edge for both high-intensity gaming and everyday office use.
  • Low delay stable output: Field75 HE V2 gaming keyboard features 8000Hz polling rate and 32000Hz scan rate for ultra-fast, stable input. Every keystroke is detected and transmitted with near-zero latency, ensuring smooth and consistent performance during intense gaming sessions.
  • Intuitive Customization with NuPhyIO: Fine-tune every aspect of your keyboard using NuPhyIO. The interface displays real-time updates, including per-key Rapid Trigger/sensitivity annotations and a bi-color actuation bar. Save global settings as layers and switch between them anytime for a personalized experience.
  • Adjustable Key Travel: Freely set actuation points from 0.1mm to 3.5mm (Magnetic Silver) or 0.1–3.2mm (Magnetic Jade Dragon-N). Customize your preferred trigger depth and break free from the traditional 1.2mm actuation limit found in standard gaming switches.
  • Rapid Trigger for Faster Combos: Rapid Trigger allows you to customize key actuation and retrigger sensitivity, enabling more actions within the same time frame for smoother combos and faster in-game reactions. Supports a minimum retrigger distance of just 0.005mm (Magnetic Jade Dragon-N) and 0.01mm (Magnetic Silver) for instant stop-and-go control.

Very sensitive settings are not automatically better for every player. RTINGS notes that lightly actuated settings can make routine typing more prone to accidental presses. Start with settings that suit your usual games and typing, then adjust rather than treating the lowest available trigger figure as the ideal setting.

Eight dedicated controls

The keyboard has eight dedicated controls that RTINGS says can be assigned advanced software functions and macros. This is useful if you want frequently used commands close at hand, but it also means the Field75 HE’s layout and control cluster should be judged by your own desk setup and habits—not just by switch specifications.

Gaming performance: polling rate is only part of the story

NuPhy lists the original Field75 HE with an 8,000Hz polling rate and an 8,000Hz scan rate. Those are manufacturer specifications, not a promise that every player will perceive a benefit over a lower-rate keyboard. RTINGS independently describes the original’s effective update rate as 8,000Hz and found its latency low and consistent in testing.

The distinction matters when considering the V2. NuPhy lists that revision with an 8,000Hz polling rate and a 32,000Hz scan rate, but RTINGS’ V2 review says the faster internal scan does not produce a meaningful real-world performance advantage over the original because the 8,000Hz report rate still limits how often inputs reach the host PC. The original’s gaming case therefore rests more on its tested responsiveness and adjustable input than on chasing the largest scan-rate number. Read RTINGS’ Field75 HE V2 review.

Original Field75 HE vs. Field75 HE V2

NuPhy currently lists the original starting at $159.95 and the V2 starting at $179.00. These are manufacturer-listed starting prices observed October 4, 2026—not guaranteed transaction prices, availability, or regional prices. Check the live listing and exact revision before buying. The V2 is a separate product revision, not an update whose specifications should be silently applied to the original.

Feature Original Field75 HE Field75 HE V2
Manufacturer-listed starting price, observed 2026-10-04 $159.95 (NuPhy; not a guaranteed transaction price) $179.00 (NuPhy; not a guaranteed transaction price)
Polling rate 8,000Hz (NuPhy specification) 8,000Hz (NuPhy specification)

Sound and appearance details noted by RTINGS GhostBar with silicone damping inserts Lighter palette, transparent keys and buttons, and a conventional spacebar

RTINGS characterizes the V2 as a modest iteration and reports no meaningful performance uplift from its higher scan rate in practical use. Its design differences may still matter if you prefer one appearance or sound profile, but those are preference-dependent rather than universal advantages. NuPhy’s comparison also lists different switch names for the two versions; verify the exact switch option on the product listing rather than assuming the same configuration.

Everyday trade-offs and who should avoid it

The original is not as versatile as a keyboard designed for mixed wireless and mobile use. RTINGS identifies the lack of wireless connectivity and keycaps without shine-through legends as limitations; its review also considers it unsuitable for mobile or tablet use and dark-room use. If a cable-free setup or illuminated legends are requirements, this is a poor fit.

Typing feel is another consideration. RTINGS says the original can feel stiff or abrupt because of its mounting and somewhat loud during extended office typing. That does not make it unsuitable for ordinary typing, but it weakens the case for choosing it primarily as a quiet all-day work keyboard—especially if you plan to use very sensitive actuation settings.

  • Rapid Shift function: Determines which button is triggered by comparing the press depths of the two set buttons
  • SOCD Function: when both bound keys are pressed, you can set your own priority to choose to trigger only one of the keys, or neither of them.

Should you buy the original Field75 HE?

It makes sense if

  • You mainly want a wired gaming keyboard with adjustable Hall-effect actuation and Rapid Trigger.
  • You will use the eight dedicated controls for macros or other mapped functions.
  • You value the original’s tested low, consistent latency and can confirm the listing is the original revision at a price and availability that suit you.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need wireless connectivity, tablet or mobile flexibility, or shine-through key legends.
  • Your priority is a softer, quieter feel for long work sessions.
  • You are considering the V2 solely because its scan-rate figure is higher: RTINGS found no meaningful practical performance advantage from that change.

Before ordering, confirm the revision, available switch option, current price and stock, and whether the wired connection and non-shine-through legends work for your setup. NuPhy describes broad platform compatibility for the V2, but that V2 compatibility list is not enough to promise the same full list for the original. For magnetic-switch removal or insertion, NuPhy warns to power the keyboard off first to avoid possible damage; check compatibility for the exact revision and switch before attempting a replacement.
