Intel NUC 11 Compute Element（Elk Bay）不是一台完整的迷你电脑，而是面向系统集成的计算模块平台：需要将 Compute Element 与匹配的 Board Element 和 Chassis Element 组合成系统。StorageReview 在 2021 年评测的 CM11EBv716W 样机展示了这种设计的取舍：内存焊接，不能把加内存当作升级路径；该样机则留有 NVMe 扩展接口。购买或组装前，关键是核对模块、板和机箱的确切型号，而不是只看“NUC 11”名称。
Elk Bay 是什么？
NUC 11 Compute Element（Elk Bay）是可组合系统中的计算模块，不是独立使用的完整电脑。StorageReview 对 CM11EBv716W 的评测将系统拆分为三个部分：包含 CPU 和内存的 Compute Element、承载连接的 Board Element，以及 Chassis Element 机箱。其定位是让系统集成商围绕兼容部件搭建定制系统。

StorageReview 于 2021 年 3 月 30 日评测的系统使用 CM11EBv716W Compute Element 和 CMCM2FBAV Fort Beach 机箱。评测记载的样机规格如下；这些是该样机的数据，不代表所有 Elk Bay 型号：

AVerMedia 采集卡和 HDMI 功能对应评测使用的 CMCM2FBAV 带 AV 后缀机箱，不能据此推断普通 CMCM2FB 机箱也包含这些功能。样机信息见 StorageReview 的 Intel NUC 11 Compute Element 评测。

样机的内存和存储能否升级？
内存：该配置不能作为可换内存平台来购买
评测样机的 16 GB LPDDR4X 为焊接内存。针对 CM11EBv716W 这一配置，不能把日后更换或增加内存作为升级方案。Elk Bay 家族中其他型号的内存配置不能从这台样机的规格推定。

空置的 PCIe x4 Gen4 NVMe 插槽为这台样机提供了扩容方向，因此 M.2 NVMe SSD 是可考虑的商品类别；这只是依据评测所列接口作出的扩容判断，并非作者实测，也不代表任何具体 SSD 型号已经验证兼容。购买前应核对实际设备的插槽规格、SSD 尺寸、机箱内可用空间及装配条件。接口存在本身不能证明特定产品适配。
哪些载板和机箱与 Elk Bay 兼容？
兼容性取决于具体 Compute Element、Board Element 和 Chassis Element 型号及其限制。Intel 于 2022 年 11 月发布的 NUC 产品目录列出 Butler Beach 对所有 Elk Bay U-series Compute Element SKU 的支持，并列出 Fort Beach 的 CMCM2FB 与带视频采集/音频功能的 CMCM2FBAV。目录可帮助识别平台关系，但不能将兼容范围扩大为“任意 NUC 机箱都兼容”。

ASUS 的兼容 FAQ 按具体机箱、板或装配件与 CM11EB 等 Compute Element 型号列出组合；部分组合附有 15W TDP 或 Thunderbolt 等条件。因而，购买时应查对应表格行及其限制，不能只按系列名称配对。可分别查阅 Intel NUC Product Catalog（2022 年 11 月）和 ASUS NUC Compute Element and Chassis Compatibility。后者最后更新于 2024 年 1 月 12 日。

- 确认 Compute Element 的完整料号。不要把 CM11EBv716W 样机规格套用到其他 Elk Bay SKU；核对处理器、内存容量及内存是否焊接。
- 确认配套载板和机箱的完整料号。对照 Intel 目录与 ASUS 兼容表，检查具体组合及其 TDP、Thunderbolt 等条件。
- 确认机箱功能是否符合用途。若需要 HDMI passthrough/input 或评测中所示的视频采集功能，应核实确切的 AV 机箱型号和随附部件，不要把 CMCM2FBAV 的配置当成普通 CMCM2FB 的标准功能。
- 若要扩容，先检查实际插槽与装配空间。评测记录只说明该样机的接口及占用状态，不验证任何特定 SSD 的适配性。
- 以当前渠道信息确认供应情况。评测发表于 2021 年，Intel 目录为 2022 年版本，ASUS 兼容 FAQ 最后更新于 2024 年 1 月；这些资料不说明 2026 年的售价、库存或二手市场价值。
