The base prices tie, but the RAM is not like-for-like. Xiaomi’s terms identify its figures as original prices for a launch promotion running from 17 September through 16 October 2026, or while stocks last; they should not be treated as permanent pricing. Which screen is bigger?
Xiaomi lists a 6.99-inch display, compared with Nothing’s 6.77-inch panel. Both manufacturers specify a high-refresh display: Xiaomi says up to 120 Hz, while Nothing describes its refresh rate as adaptive at 120 Hz. Xiaomi’s UK page gives the REDMI’s resolution as 2396 × 1080. These figures describe panel specifications, not a side-by-side assessment of brightness, colour accuracy or readability.

Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi specifies a 7,700 mAh typical-capacity battery and 45 W turbo charging. Nothing lists a 5,200 mAh battery for the UK Phone (4b); its 6,000 mAh figure applies to India only. Capacity alone does not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use, and the published material does not provide a controlled battery-life comparison.
Xiaomi says the UK package does not include a power adapter and recommends a compatible 45 W PD charger or its official 45 W adapter. Its listed package contents include a cable and protective case, but Xiaomi notes that contents can vary by region. Check the package for the exact unit being sold.
Camera and video differences
Both UK product materials list a 50 MP main rear camera. Nothing promotes 4K video, while Xiaomi’s UK technical specification lists rear video recording up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. The resolution headline alone does not show which camera takes better photos; no controlled camera comparison is established here.

Xiaomi’s UK specification lists a 16 MP front camera. Use the UK-specific specification when comparing regional models, since camera details may differ by market.

Xiaomi identifies the REDMI’s processor as a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 with a listed maximum clock speed of 2.3 GHz. The captured Nothing UK material describes an eight-core Snapdragon CPU but does not establish its model number. Without comparable benchmark results, these details are not enough to declare a performance winner.
Xiaomi lists IP65 protection, with important limits: the rating is based on specified laboratory conditions, resistance may decline through wear or damage, and the rating does not mean liquid damage outside those conditions is covered. Do not interpret it as waterproofing. No matching protection rating was established in the gathered Nothing UK information.

Xiaomi also cautions that network connectivity can vary by region and operator. Before purchase, verify the precise model and supported bands with your UK carrier, particularly if buying an imported device.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Phone (4b) if the listed 8GB+128GB configuration suits you or 4K video capability is important. Its UK listing shows the same £299 starting price as Xiaomi’s lower-RAM 6GB+128GB configuration.
- Consider the REDMI Note 17 5G if you want the larger listed display, the higher stated battery capacity, or Xiaomi’s 6GB+256GB option at the price in its launch terms. Factor in buying a compatible adapter if you need one.
- Do not choose on an assumed speed, battery-life or photo-quality win. Manufacturer specifications do not substitute for controlled tests of those outcomes.
