The Nothing Phone (3a) costs more but adds a 2× optical-zoom telephoto camera, a higher-rated dust-and-water protection level, and faster wired charging. The Phone (3a) Lite is the cheaper option and, according to reviewed coverage, supports microSD expansion. Nothing’s UK collection showed starting prices of £329 for the Phone (3a) and £249 for the Lite—a £80 gap, not necessarily a like-for-like configuration comparison.

What is the price difference?

Nothing’s UK product collection showed starting prices of £249 for the Phone (3a) Lite and £329 for the Phone (3a), an £80 difference between starting prices on the page accessed in 2026. The collection does not establish that these prices represent identical RAM and storage configurations, so treat the gap as a UK starting-price snapshot rather than a universal like-for-like comparison. Check the exact variant and current local price before buying. See Nothing’s UK phone collection.

For context, TechRadar reported the Lite’s UK launch prices in 2025 as £249 for 128GB and £279 for 256GB. These are historical launch prices, not current quotations. Nothing Europe’s page showed the standard Phone (3a) at €329 for 8GB RAM/128GB storage and €379 for 12GB/256GB in the page view reviewed; those are Europe-site prices and should not be combined with UK prices as though they described the same market or offer. Which phone should you buy?

Choose the Phone (3a) if you value zoom, charging, or protection

  • Its dedicated 50MP telephoto camera offers 2× optical zoom; the Lite’s reported third rear camera is a 2MP macro camera instead.
  • Its listed 50W charging is faster on paper than the Lite’s reported 33W wired charging.
  • Its official IP64 rating is higher than the Lite’s reported IP54 rating. Neither rating, by itself, establishes how a phone will fare in every exposure scenario.
  • Nothing Europe specifies the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. The Lite’s Dimensity 7300 Pro is reported by secondary sources; the available material does not provide comparable benchmark testing, so specifications alone do not quantify everyday speed.

Choose the Phone (3a) Lite if price or expandable storage matters more

  • Its lower UK starting price in Nothing’s 2026 collection is the clearest reason to consider it, provided the exact variant is available locally at a price that suits you.
  • Its reported microSD slot can be useful if you want removable storage. The maximum supported card capacity was not established in the reviewed material, so confirm that with Nothing before purchasing a card.
  • Its reported 6.77-inch 120Hz screen and 5,000mAh battery match the standard model’s headline size and capacity. Those figures do not prove identical display characteristics or battery life.

Compare your exact variants before paying

Compare local prices for the same RAM and storage tier where possible. Also check carrier-band compatibility for your country and variant rather than assuming one market’s network support applies elsewhere. Nothing Europe lists standard Phone (3a) configurations of 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB; the Lite configurations reported by TechRadar at UK launch were 128GB and 256GB, with prices that were specific to that launch.

What the specifications do—and do not—tell you

Both phones are reported with 5,000mAh batteries and 6.77-inch 120Hz displays, but no comparable real-world battery tests or display measurements were available in the reviewed sources. The same limit applies to camera quality and performance: the listed camera hardware and processors show what differs on paper, not which phone takes better photos in practice or how much faster one feels in a particular app.
