The Nothing Phone (4b) is the cheaper option in the UK listings reviewed: Nothing’s phone collection showed it at £299, compared with £399 for the Phone (3a) Pro—a displayed difference of £100 on 5 October 2026. The Pro’s clearest advantage is its dedicated 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom; it is also listed in a higher-memory, higher-storage configuration. The better fit depends on whether those features justify the higher listed price and whether the model is available in your region.

Prices and availability are storefront snapshots, not guaranteed checkout terms. Nothing’s UK phone collection displayed the two prices above, but the UK Phone (3a) Pro page showed the 12 GB/256 GB model as sold out. The Phone (4b) product page is an international storefront page that showed 8 GB/128 GB and a sign-up button, not a price. Check local stock, configuration and final price before buying.

Which phone has the better camera?

Choose the Phone (3a) Pro for optical zoom

The Pro has the more versatile confirmed rear-camera setup for subjects that are far away: Nothing specifies a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. PhoneArena’s comparison also lists an 8 MP ultrawide and identifies the Pro as having a triple rear-camera system. Optical zoom uses a dedicated telephoto camera rather than relying only on cropping the main-camera image, which makes it the meaningful hardware distinction if you often photograph distant subjects.

The Phone (4b) has a main-and-ultrawide pairing

Nothing describes the 4b with a 50 MP main camera and 4K video; PhoneArena lists a dual rear-camera system with a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. The supplied specifications do not establish a dedicated telephoto camera for the 4b. Megapixel counts alone do not show which phone takes better pictures, and no comparative image-quality testing is available here.

How do price, RAM and storage compare?

In the UK collection snapshot, the Phone (4b) was listed at £299 and the Phone (3a) Pro at £399, a £100 difference. The observed product-page configurations also differ: the Pro listing is 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, while the international 4b page shows 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. That gives the Pro listing twice the storage, but configurations can vary by market and seller. Confirm the exact SKU and price in the country where you plan to buy.

The product pages did not show matching availability states: the UK Pro product page marked its listed configuration sold out, while the international 4b page offered a sign-up button without a price. The collection price does not guarantee that a handset is in stock or available at that amount at checkout.

Battery, chipset and software differences

Battery capacity is not a runtime test

PhoneArena lists a 5,000 mAh battery for the Phone (3a) Pro and 5,200 mAh for the Phone (4b), with a 6,000 mAh Phone (4b) variant for India. These are listed capacities, not measurements of how long either phone lasts in everyday use. Screen, network, software and usage all affect runtime; the figures alone do not prove that the 4b lasts longer. Check the regional model before comparing capacity.

Chipsets differ, but performance is untested here

PhoneArena lists the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in the Pro and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 in the 4b. Those model names identify different chipsets, but they are not a substitute for comparable performance tests. No benchmark or real-world speed testing is available to establish which phone performs better in particular apps or games.

Software listings do not establish an end-of-support date

PhoneArena lists Android 15 for the Pro and Android 16 for the 4b, and reports up to three OS updates for the 4b. This comparison does not establish a full manufacturer support policy or a specific final update date for either model. Treat the software details as the versions and update information listed by that secondary source, rather than a guarantee of support through a particular year.
