What changes with Phone (3)?
Newer processor platform
Phone (3) moves from Phone (2)’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Nothing describes the Phone (3) processor as an upgrade, but its specifications alone do not establish real-world speed, gaming performance, heat, or battery-life differences. Those outcomes should not be inferred from the chipset names alone.

Different display specifications
Phone (2) lists a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with adaptive refresh from 1Hz to 120Hz. Phone (3) lists a slightly smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED panel running at 120Hz. The stated specifications therefore show a change in display technology and refresh behavior, not a meaningful size increase. Nothing advertises 4500 nits peak brightness for Phone (3); peak brightness is not the same as sustained, typical, or whole-screen brightness.
Camera and charging details are incomplete for a full comparison
Nothing identifies Phone (2) as having two 50MP rear cameras and a 32MP front camera; the Phone (3) page extract describes a four-camera 50MP system. That is not enough information to compare individual camera sensors, lenses, or image quality. The captured Phone (2) page specifies battery capacity and charging rates, while comparable Phone (3) battery and charging values are not established here.

Nothing Phone (2) vs Phone (3) price difference
There is no single price difference that applies across regions or listings. Official-store search-result snapshots showed a U.S. Phone (2) 12GB/256GB listing at $699 marked sold out, and a U.K. Phone (2) 12GB/512GB listing at £699. A U.K. Phone (3) result showed £549 against £699 for a 12GB/256GB configuration. These are not like-for-like comparisons: the Phone (2) U.K. listing has a different storage tier, and the Phone (2) U.S. listing is unavailable. The £549 Phone (3) figure is a storefront result, not proof of a permanent standard price.
Other official regional Phone (3) storefront results showed €649 in Austria and ¥124,800 in Japan. Currencies, taxes, configurations, promotions, and stock differ, so these figures cannot be combined into a meaningful global price comparison. Storefront search results may also be stale or inconsistent; one result contained Phone (1) copy and is not reliable evidence of Phone (3) details.

- Consider Phone (2) if its listed LTPO adaptive refresh, specified Qi wireless and reverse charging, or stated update schedule better matches your priorities. Check its current availability and the exact storage configuration in your market.
- Compare the actual listings if price is decisive. Use local, current prices for matching configurations and account for whether a listing is discounted, sold out, or offered by a third-party seller.
