To disable Now Bar items on a Samsung Galaxy running One UI 7, open Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Now bar, then turn off the features you don’t want to see. Samsung describes these as individual controls; the menu may not include one universal switch that disables everything.
Turn off the Now Bar entries you don’t want
- Open Settings.
- Tap Lock screen and AOD, then tap Now bar.
- Turn off the listed features or entries you want removed. To make the lock screen as clear as possible, review and disable each unwanted item in this menu.
- Check your lock screen and Always On Display (AOD) to confirm the result.
Samsung’s One UI 7 instructions describe turning off selected features. The exact labels and controls can vary by model and software version.
What the Now Bar shows
Samsung describes Now Bar as a lock-screen activity widget that can display live information such as notifications, music playback, and timers, and can let you check or control some activities without unlocking your phone. Depending on your device and enabled features, entries may include supported app updates, Now brief, Current mode, Do not disturb, or Torch. Samsung’s guide to using Now Bar notes that availability varies by country and model, and some functions may require a network connection or Samsung Account.
If an entry still appears
Now Bar depends on supported apps or features being active; Samsung says an entry does not appear unless its supported app is running. If an app’s activity continues to show, check that app’s notification permission, lock-screen display permission, and live-information settings. These permissions can be necessary for Now Bar notifications. Samsung’s support guide explains these requirements.

If you can’t find the Now Bar setting
- Use Settings search and search for Now bar.
- Confirm your device is running One UI 7. To check the installed version, go to Settings > About phone > Software information.
- Check for a software update if needed. One UI 7 availability and features can vary by Galaxy model, carrier, and network; consult the settings available on your device. Samsung’s One UI 7 compatibility guide lists supported Galaxy devices and notes these variations.
Samsung also cautions that menu names, paths, and screen layouts can differ by model, software version, or app version.
