NioPlay is reported to have closed in April 2026, so it does not appear to be available to play now. Before the reported shutdown, it described itself as a sweepstakes-style social casino, not a real-money gambling site. That description does not establish that NioPlay was legal everywhere: its own rules restricted participation by location, and the published eligibility lists differed. The closure is reported by Casino.org in October 2026 and SweepsKings in September 2026, not confirmed in an operator announcement identified by those reports.
What NioPlay was—and what its rules meant
NioPlay was a digital social casino operated by Nio Consolidated, LLC, according to its terms. The operator described the platform as offering no real-money gambling and requiring no actual money to play. Its published rules used two virtual currencies with different purposes:
| Currency | Stated use | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Coins | Standard social-casino play | The terms said Gold Coins could not be redeemed for prizes. |
| Sweeps Coins | Entries for Promotional Play under separate sweepstakes rules | They were not directly available for purchase. The rules described free awards, alternative entry methods, and purchase bonuses. |
The distinction matters: the operator’s documents presented Gold Coins as play currency and Sweeps Coins as sweepstakes entries, rather than as two balances that could both be cashed out. That was the operator’s stated model, not an independent finding that every activity or promotion complied with every jurisdiction’s law.

Was NioPlay legal?
There is no support in the reviewed material for a blanket claim that NioPlay was legal nationwide—or illegal nationwide. Its official rules said participation required no purchase or payment, and that paying would not improve a participant’s chance of winning. Those features describe a sweepstakes structure, but they do not by themselves settle the legal status of a particular promotion or a user’s participation in a particular place.
#1 Best Overall
- Exciting and thrilling dice game (tactical game of chance) for the whole family
- Easy to learn, quick to play – ideal for any occasion
- Constant tension and surprising twists
- The revision of the classic in a handy format
- The "Biggys" and "Bandit" modules bring more variety to the game
NioPlay’s January 30, 2025 terms told users not to access the platform or a game if it was deemed illegal where they lived or were located. The later official sweepstakes rules, dated May 28, 2025, excluded a longer list of jurisdictions. These were operator eligibility terms, not court rulings or independent legal opinions.
| Published document | Listed excluded locations |
|---|---|
| Terms & Conditions, version 1.1.2, updated January 30, 2025 | Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, Michigan, Montana, Washington, and Quebec. |
| Official Sweepstakes Rules, version 1.4.1, dated May 28, 2025 | Idaho, Nevada, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington, and Quebec. |
Because the two lists conflict, the later rules are the better source for describing the operator’s published sweepstakes eligibility as of May 28, 2025. They may not reflect the final rules before the reported closure, and they do not establish the law in any state or province. Anyone assessing a specific legal question would need current jurisdiction-specific authority rather than relying on a platform’s terms.

Could players enter for free or redeem prizes?
The May 28, 2025 official rules described a mail-in alternative method of entry and stated that no purchase or payment was necessary to participate. They also set a minimum prize-redemption threshold of 75 Sweeps Coins. That is a historical rule, not evidence that a player can redeem a balance now: NioPlay is reported closed, and the available reporting does not establish whether any unredeemed balances were paid or how they were handled.
Is NioPlay still operating in 2026?
Casino.org’s October 2026 review and SweepsKings’ September 2026 closed-site listing both report that NioPlay shut down in April 2026. Casino.org says the site no longer loads and reports finding no official statement to players or the press. Nio Consolidated’s project page still describes NioPlay, but promotional material alone does not demonstrate that accounts, games, or prize redemptions remain available. The closure is therefore supported by third-party reporting, not an operator-confirmed notice identified in those reports.

What to know about the operator terms
The terms identify Nio Consolidated, LLC as the operator and sweepstakes sponsor. They also include individual arbitration and a waiver of class, group, and representative claims, subject to an opt-out provision. The full agreement controls the applicable deadlines and requirements; the summary here is not a substitute for reading it. These dispute terms do not resolve the separate question of whether the promotion was lawful in a particular location.
