Nintendo’s Japan-only Nintendo Switch 2 Choose-Your-Game Bundle is scheduled to launch on November 12, 2026, for a suggested retail price of ¥63,980, tax included. It includes the Japanese-language Switch 2 system and a download code for one of three games. This is not simply a Japan-market version of the regular console: Japanese is its only system language, and Nintendo says only Nintendo Accounts set to Japan can be linked.
Release date and announced price
Nintendo announced the bundle for Japan on October 6, 2026. Its scheduled release date is November 12, 2026, and its suggested retail price is ¥63,980 including tax, according to Nintendo’s October 6, 2026 corporate release. This is the announced suggested price; retailer availability and pricing may vary.

Nintendo’s Japanese announcement describes the three choices and their play styles at Nintendo’s October 6, 2026 Japan announcement. The Japanese product page calls the third game トモダチコレクション わくわく生活; Nintendo’s English release renders it Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. The included game is a download, not a physical cartridge.

What is in the box?
Nintendo lists the following contents for the set:
- Nintendo Switch 2 console (Japanese-language, Japan-only model)
- Joy-Con 2 left and right controllers
- Joy-Con 2 wrist straps
- Nintendo Switch 2 dock
- Joy-Con 2 grip

The included-items list appears on Nintendo’s Japanese product page.
Important: the console is Japanese-language and Japan-only
Nintendo states that Japanese is the only available system language and that only Nintendo Accounts whose country/region is set to Japan can be linked to this console. Those are product restrictions, not just conditions of buying the bundle in Japan. Nintendo’s published information establishes the Japan-region account requirement; it does not establish that an account set to another country or region can be linked by using the console overseas.

How to redeem the game code
- Choose one of the three eligible games when purchasing the bundle; Nintendo says the selected title cannot be changed after redemption.
- Use the download number on the paper insert to redeem the game through Nintendo eShop. A Nintendo Account and an internet connection are required.
- Redeem the code by March 31, 2027. Nintendo lists that date as the code’s validity deadline.
Nintendo’s product page and bundle information state the redemption requirements, deadline, and no-change rule. The game is delivered digitally after redemption.
Which game should you pick?
- Choose Mario Kart World if racing is the main draw or you want a game Nintendo describes as playable solo or with family and friends.
- Choose Nintendo Switch Sports Resort if sports-based play, particularly group play, is the better fit.
- Choose Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream if you prefer social-simulation play built around interactions among island residents. Nintendo lists this title as Nintendo Switch software, while the other two choices are listed as Nintendo Switch 2 software.
Is the bundle cheaper than buying the console and game separately?
Nintendo describes the set as advantageous, but the cited official announcement does not provide separate current Japan prices for the console and each eligible game. The announced bundle price alone is not enough to calculate a verified saving.
