Nike describes the shoe as having a mesh upper, foam midsole, flex grooves and a waffle outsole. These are manufacturer-provided construction details, not independent test findings. Nike lists a 10 mm heel-to-toe drop and an approximate weight of 281 g for men’s US size 10; weight will vary by size.
Is the Nike Run Defy good for running?
Nike presents the shoe for running, and RTINGS characterizes it as an entry-level option for occasional running as well as walking and fitness classes. RTINGS also observes that its midsole does not feel especially bouncy on release. That makes the Run Defy a more plausible choice for easy, occasional runs than for someone specifically seeking a lively ride.

The available evidence does not establish how it performs over high weekly mileage, in races, or for a particular gait type. If those are your priorities, compare shoes using evidence specific to those needs rather than assuming this model is suitable based on its road-running label.
Is it comfortable for walking and everyday use?
RTINGS includes walking and fitness classes among the shoe’s potential uses, so it may suit someone who wants one basic shoe for light running and everyday activity. That does not establish that it will be comfortable for all-day walking: comfort depends on the wearer, and the available review information does not document an all-day wear test.

How does the Nike Run Defy fit?
Nike UK’s listing showed 4.7 stars from 57 reviews when accessed in 2026, with comfort-positive customer comments dated August and September 2026. Those are retailer-hosted opinions, not a fit study, and they do not establish a universal sizing rule. There is no sound basis here for recommending that every buyer size up or down.
If you have wide feet or are uncertain about fit, try the shoe on where possible or check the seller’s return terms before ordering.

What should you compare before buying?
Decide whether your priority is occasional running, walking or higher-mileage training, then compare shoes on fit and width, cushioning and rebound feel, outsole traction, weight at your size, and current local price.
