Make room around the player and use wrist straps, as Nintendo advises. For some soccer gameplay, Nintendo says a leg strap is required. Check the specific game’s hardware and accessory requirements before buying; an active-games category alone does not establish that every title works the same way.
Use Active Arcade if you already have a compatible phone
Nex Active Arcade uses movement as the control method on a mobile device, without requiring expensive equipment or wearables, according to Nex. That can make it worth considering if you already own a compatible device and want a simpler setup.

Do not assume it replaces a TV-based system. The available information does not establish which phones are supported for every game or how to display gameplay on a household TV. Check device support and any casting options for your particular phone before choosing it for shared, big-screen play.

Before paying for a used setup, confirm the exact console model, sensor, required connections, and the specific game you intend to play. If the seller cannot demonstrate that combination working, treat compatibility as unresolved rather than assuming Kinect will connect to a newer Xbox.
Check Nex’s games, space, and privacy details before comparing
Nex describes Playground as connecting to a TV through HDMI, using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Its listed box contents include a magnetic privacy cover, navigation remote, power and HDMI cables, and a five-game starter pack: Fruit Ninja, Whack-a-Mole Deluxe, Party Fowl, Go Keeper, and Starri. Nex says the starter pack works without Play Pass. The optional Play Pass unlocks a larger catalog; Nex’s FAQ listed 60+ games for the pass when checked. Catalog size and prices can change.

Nex recommends a play area of about 6 ft by 6 ft and recommends Playground for ages 5 and up. For ages 3–4, Nex says a grown-up or older sibling can help them enjoy more of the games. These are Nex’s recommendations; do not assume other systems require the same space or suit the same ages.
On privacy, Nex says motion tracking happens locally and video data is not processed in the cloud. Its FAQ also says some games temporarily capture clips for local replay and that those clips are not saved. This is Nex’s description of Playground and should not be generalized to other camera-based devices.

Compare the real cost and the games you will use
The checked official US Nex listing showed $299 for Playground; its FAQ listed Play Pass separately at $89 for 12 months or $49 for three months. Those are Nex-listed prices at the time checked, not a like-for-like total-cost comparison with Nintendo or a used Kinect setup. Console, game, accessory, and subscription prices can change, and the available information does not settle those totals.
For a useful household comparison, consider what you already own, whether the games you want are available on it, and whether you need a TV setup or can play on a phone. Nintendo’s category confirms active games are available but does not provide a stable, comparable total-library count against Nex.
