“New moneropool Docker Images” refers to the ServeTheHome Docker Hub image servethehome/monero_moneropool, which was presented as a Docker Swarm-compatible tool for automated, clustered Monero mining. Docker Hub says the listing was updated about eight years ago, so its tag descriptions are historical—not proof that the image still works, is secure, or is maintained.

What the moneropool Docker image was for

The ServeTheHome listing described servethehome/monero_moneropool as an image for automating Monero mining across a cluster, including Docker Swarm deployments and NVIDIA GPU use with nvidia-docker. The listing says its author had deployed the images on large Docker Swarm clusters. That describes the project’s original intent; it does not establish present-day compatibility or performance. What each historical tag targeted

Tag Listing’s stated target What that does—and does not—tell you
latest Intel Core i3, i5, and i7; Intel Xeon E3, E5, and E7; and Xeon D CPUs. The default CPU-oriented image in the listing. These are historical target claims, not current hardware recommendations or benchmark results.
zen AMD Zen architectures; the listing says it had been pushed over an AMD Ryzen cluster. An AMD-oriented variant as described at the time. It does not establish compatibility with current Ryzen systems.
nproc Architectures without dedicated L3 cache, with Intel Xeon Phi x200 and Intel Atom as examples. A variant distinguished by the listed cache characteristic; no present-day support matrix is established.
nvidia NVIDIA GPUs using nvidia-docker. A GPU-oriented variant in the listing. Current GPU runtime, driver, and mining-client compatibility are unverified.

The tag names and targets come from the old Docker Hub listing. It provides no current performance comparison, validated hardware configuration, or basis for ranking these options.

Is the image still usable?

That is not established by the available listing. Docker Hub reports an update about eight years ago, but that relative age does not identify an exact rebuild date or show whether the image can still be pulled. The listing does not establish its dependencies, vulnerability status, compatibility with current mining clients or pool protocols, or economic usefulness. Treat those as unknowns, rather than assuming either that it works or that it is definitively unusable.

For a current deployment decision, those points require direct checks against the image and the mining software and pool you intend to use. The old architecture labels alone are not enough to justify running it on a production machine.

Do not confuse it with Monero daemon and wallet containers

The RINO Community monero container project serves a different purpose: its repository says the image can run monerod, monero-wallet-rpc, or monero-wallet-cli. It distinguishes stable version tags for stagenet and mainnet from a latest image based on Monero’s master branch, described as useful for testnet. Those are daemon and wallet tools, not evidence that the ServeTheHome pool-mining image is maintained or replaced by RINO’s project. RINO Community monero repository

Pulling an image: tag defaults and reproducibility

Docker’s general pull syntax is docker pull NAME[:TAG]. If the tag is omitted, Docker defaults to latest; that default is a tag convention, not a guarantee that an image is recent or safe. Docker also documents digest pinning as a way to select one exact image version. A pinned digest will not automatically receive later security updates, and the available information does not verify a current digest for this repository. Docker image pull documentation

Accordingly, a command such as docker pull servethehome/monero_moneropool requests the repository’s latest tag under Docker’s normal behavior. It does not confirm that the image exists now, that it is safe, or that it will work with current mining infrastructure. Avoid treating the old tag descriptions as deployment instructions.
