“Screenless” does not mean computerless: Sightful’s Spacetop G1, reported in 2024, replaced a conventional built-in display with a workspace viewed through augmented-reality glasses. Sightful’s current Spacetop offering is a different setup: software installed on a compatible Windows laptop, paired with XREAL One Pro glasses. The glasses provide the visual workspace; the laptop still does the computing, and a physical keyboard remains part of the experience.
What a laptop with no screen actually means
The idea is to move the display from a laptop panel to glasses worn by the user. Instead of looking down at a built-in screen, the wearer sees computer windows in the glasses. The device still needs computing hardware and an input method such as a keyboard; “screenless” describes how its visual output is presented, not an absence of a computer.
Futurism’s June 10, 2024 report described Sightful’s Spacetop G1 as running a custom version of Android and reported a $1,900 price at the time. Those details belong to that historical G1 report; they should not be read as specifications or pricing for Sightful’s current Windows-based product.
How Sightful’s current Spacetop setup works
Sightful now describes Spacetop as software that runs on top of Windows on a compatible laptop. The glasses supply the multi-window workspace, while the laptop runs the operating system and applications. This is not the same hardware configuration as the 2024 Spacetop G1.

According to Sightful, the current software works only with XREAL One Pro glasses. The company says it intends to support a wider range of glasses in the future, but that is not current compatibility. Buying glasses by themselves also does not provide the Spacetop software or guarantee that a laptop will work with it.

- At least 16 GB of RAM.
- A USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, or Thunderbolt 3 or 4.
- A processor from the Intel Core i7/i9 or Core Ultra families listed by Sightful.
These are manufacturer requirements, not independent compatibility testing. Confirm the exact laptop models and processor variants on Sightful’s current product page before purchase, since specifications and supported configurations can change. Sightful’s page says Mac support is not currently available and appears on its 2026 development roadmap; roadmap language is not a delivery commitment, so check with the company for the latest status.
What the glasses specifications tell you—and what they don’t
Sightful lists the XREAL One Pro glasses for this setup with Sony Micro-OLED displays at 1920×1080 pixels per eye, a 57-degree diagonal field of view, 39 pixels per degree, brightness up to 600 nits, and a weight of 87 grams. These are figures published by Sightful, not independent measurements or a guarantee of how clear, comfortable, or bright the workspace will feel in everyday use.

A virtual multi-window workspace may appeal if you want to avoid carrying or sharing a conventional display. But these product specifications alone do not answer whether the glasses will be comfortable for long sessions, whether text will be legible for your needs, or whether you will prefer the experience to a physical monitor. Those are practical questions to assess with the exact glasses and software before committing.

Sightful’s pricing page, accessed on September 28, 2026, lists its standard Spacetop software plan at $54 per seat per month, billed annually, with a five-seat minimum. It also lists a one-time $699 cost for a pair of XREAL glasses; enterprise pricing is custom. Prices and package terms can change, so verify the live listing and confirm what is included before purchase.

Futurism reported the Spacetop G1 at $1,900 in June 2024. That historical figure is not directly comparable with the current software subscription and glasses prices: the products and purchasing arrangements differ. Treat the current listed software and hardware costs as separate items when estimating a team’s total, and check whether a particular quote includes everything you need.
Is a glasses-based workspace the right fit?
The central trade-off is replacing a conventional display with a workspace seen through glasses. Before choosing it, consider:

- Existing hardware: Whether your Windows laptop meets Sightful’s current requirements, including the right port and processor.
- Total cost: The software billing term and seat minimum, plus the separate glasses cost and any other items in the offer.
- Your applications: Whether your operating system and required software fit the current Windows-based setup.
- Comfort and legibility: Whether wearing glasses and reading a virtual workspace suits your work over the periods you expect to use it.
- Privacy and setting: Whether viewing your work through wearable glasses is appropriate in your office, shared workspace, or other environment.
- Display preference: Whether you want a glasses-based workspace or would rather use a laptop panel or physical monitor.
Futurism’s 2024 article quoted Emily Wang, identified as VITURE’s mixed-reality-glasses co-founder, through Laptop Mag: “The concept of an AR laptop is certainly an interesting idea, but I foresee issues in its implementation, especially as it is/if it is Android based,” and, “For many, what they get may not outweigh what they sacrifice to get it.” The first comment was about the Android-based concept discussed at the time; it should not be treated as an assessment of Sightful’s current Windows product.
