What the Nighthawk M7 does
The MH7150 connects to a cellular network over 5G or 4G and shares that connection over Wi-Fi. Instead of configuring a separate hotspot on each phone, you can connect multiple devices—such as laptops, tablets and phones—to one dedicated travel router.
NETGEAR advertises Wi-Fi 7 with a maximum rate of up to 3.6 Gbps and support for up to 32 connected devices. Those are manufacturer specifications, not promises of the speed you will get on a trip: actual performance depends on cellular coverage, the network, local conditions and the devices connected. NETGEAR also advertises up to 10 hours of battery life; that is a maximum claim, not an independently established travel runtime.

How its travel data options work
NETGEAR says its app offers eSIM data plans in more than 140 countries. The company also describes support for compatible physical SIMs and third-party eSIMs. That country count indicates the stated reach of the plan marketplace; it does not guarantee coverage in every location, compatibility with every carrier, or dependable service at your hotel or along your route. NETGEAR’s MH7150 product page and 2026 announcement describe the service, but do not establish which plan is best value for a particular itinerary.
Before relying on it, check the plan’s supported countries, data allowance, validity period and price against your route and expected usage. For a physical SIM or third-party eSIM, confirm that the service works with this model and the networks available where you are going.

Check the exact M7 model and network compatibility
“M7” is a product family name, not a guarantee that every model has the same specifications or regional network support. This deal concerns the MH7150. NETGEAR’s support specifications distinguish other models, including the M7 Pro MR7400 and M7 Ultra MR7500. Do not apply those models’ carrier or regional details to the MH7150.
Before purchase, match the model number and its supported cellular bands to the destination country and the carrier or eSIM service you intend to use. A device can support 5G in principle yet be unsuitable for a particular itinerary if the relevant local network or service is not compatible.

Security features—and their limits
NETGEAR lists a built-in firewall, WPA3 encryption and automatic firmware updates for the MH7150. These are useful security features, but they do not amount to a guarantee of total protection on public networks. Use a strong Wi-Fi password, keep the device’s software up to date and take the same care with sensitive accounts that you would on any shared connection.

A dedicated hotspot is most relevant if you regularly travel with several Wi-Fi devices and want them to share one cellular connection. It is less compelling if you only need occasional access on one phone, or if your trip depends on a network or data plan that has not been confirmed compatible. Compare the device’s upfront cost with suitable data plans and with the connectivity options you already have; the available product information does not establish a best-value plan or a head-to-head winner against alternatives.
