There is no Antares launch scheduled for tonight: NASA’s Wallops launch schedule currently lists no public launches. The most recent Antares flight covered here, NG-19, launched on August 1, 2023, and was the final flight of the Antares 230+ configuration. For a future Wallops launch, check NASA’s live schedule and event-specific viewing details before traveling or tuning in.
Is an Antares rocket launching tonight?
No current launch is listed. NASA’s Wallops Launch Schedule currently says there are no public launches on the schedule. NASA records Antares NG-19 as having launched on August 1, 2023; it was the final flight of Northrop Grumman’s Antares 230+ configuration, according to the 2023 Wallops Range Annual Report. That historical launch date should not be treated as a current event announcement.
NASA says launch dates, times, and viewing opportunities can change, even shortly before liftoff. Confirm the mission on the live schedule and review NASA’s launch-day updates before making plans.

| Option | What NASA says | What to confirm for a specific launch |
|---|---|---|
| Wallops Visitor Center Launch Viewing Area | A public viewing option a few miles from the launch range, with a clear view of the pads. For large launches, NASA says it typically hosts thousands of people; its parking lot has often filled within an hour after opening. | Whether the site is open, its event-specific opening time and access rules, parking availability, and any capacity limits. |
| NASA Wallops YouTube | NASA’s general Wallops viewing guide identifies the NASA Wallops YouTube channel as an online option. | Whether NASA has announced coverage for that launch and the stream’s start time. |
| NASA TV | NASA TV carries some Wallops launches and mission briefings, not every launch. | Whether the event appears on the NASA TV program schedule and when coverage begins. |

Check access before you travel
NASA’s Visitor Center Launch Viewing Area is one public location with a clear view of the pads, but access is event-specific. NASA says the site has no tickets and parking spaces cannot be reserved. At large launches, the Visitor Center typically hosts thousands of people, and its lot has often filled within an hour after opening. These are NASA’s descriptions of its large-launch events, not a guarantee of capacity or access for a future mission.

Plan for delays, crowds, and changing conditions
- Arrive early and allow extra time for traffic around Wallops and Chincoteague.
- Choose a backup viewing location in case your preferred site is full or unavailable; verify that it is open to the public for that event.
- Bring seating, food, beverages, and activities for a wait that may last a few hours. A folding camp chair is optional if you expect to wait outdoors.
- Check weather, NASA updates, and local road information before leaving. NASA warns that some Eastern Shore locations may close during Antares launches; check Virginia State Police and Virginia Department of Transportation notices rather than assuming a road or site is open.

NASA’s general guidance points viewers to the NASA Wallops YouTube channel. NASA TV may also carry a Wallops launch or mission briefing, but coverage is not provided for every launch; check the NASA TV program schedule for the specific event.

Wait for a mission-specific announcement before relying on a stream start time. For example, NASA’s July 26, 2023 announcement for NG-19 said coverage would begin at 8 p.m. EDT for the launch planned on August 1, 2023. That time and the local viewing suggestions in the announcement applied to NG-19 only, not to any future launch.
