After more than five weeks with the HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket, Wareable reviewer Emilija Lipskytė reported feeling calmer and sleeping better on days she used it. She did not notice weight loss or a change in her skin. Those are her personal observations—not results from a clinical trial—and they may not predict what another user experiences.
What the reviewer experienced
Lipskytė found the blanket comfortable and easy to adjust. She said the initial heat felt pleasant at level 5 and that she sweated less during early sessions than she would in a traditional sauna. She also found the optional insert made a session cozier.
In her review, Lipskytė wrote: “After trying the HigherDOSE blanket, I noticed two main benefits. First, I felt more relaxed and calmer, especially in the evenings. Second, my sleep quality improved when I used the blanket regularly, particularly on days I had sessions.” She described the roughly hour-long session routine as a downside. What the blanket is like to use
HigherDOSE lists nine heat levels, a maximum setting of 175°F, one heat zone, a one-hour timer, and a power draw of 350–420 watts. The blanket is listed at 71 × 31 inches by Sephora and comes with a handheld remote. Allow time to preheat as well as time for the session: HigherDOSE’s current instructions recommend preheating for 10–15 minutes.

The official instructions recommend placing the blanket on a heat-safe surface, wearing long sleeves, pants, and socks or using the optional insert, and starting with 30–40 minutes at a comfortable setting. They also recommend hydration, cooling the blanket before wiping it down, and beginning with one or two sessions a week before building from there. Instructions can change, so follow the manual supplied with your unit if it differs from the website.
The towel insert is an optional accessory listed separately by Sephora; its page displayed a price of $89 when accessed, which may change. Lipskytė also noted that a towel can serve as a barrier. Check whether an insert is included with the particular bundle you are buying.

Does it cause weight loss or provide medical benefits?
Lipskytė did not lose weight during her more-than-five-week trial. More broadly, the sources cited here do not establish that this specific blanket causes weight loss, detoxifies the body, or treats disease. HigherDOSE advertises benefits including calorie burn, detoxification, circulation, recovery, mood, and skin; these are manufacturer claims, not conclusions demonstrated by a controlled trial of the blanket.
Mayo Clinic’s September 13, 2024 overview says some studies suggest infrared saunas may help with certain conditions, including high blood pressure, heart failure, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, headache, type 2 diabetes, and arthritis. It also says larger, more precise studies are needed, and some of the cited studies involved traditional saunas. The overview does not establish that this blanket produces those outcomes. HigherDOSE reports that an independent survey of 1,044 sauna blanket users found 95% were more relaxed after one session and 90% felt less stressed. Sephora separately cites an independent consumer survey of 1,440 participants, reporting 90% felt less stressed, 95% felt more relaxed, and 92% loved their blanket. These are consumer-survey claims, not clinical-trial results; the listed sample sizes differ, and the pages do not establish that the surveys used the same participants or methodology.

Use the blanket only as directed, cover your skin with clothing or the recommended insert, and use a heat-safe surface. Lipskytė advises starting at a lower setting and stopping if dizzy, nauseated, or lightheaded; that is reviewer advice, not a substitute for the unit’s safety instructions or medical advice. She also recommends consulting a clinician before use during pregnancy, with cardiovascular conditions, or while taking medication that affects heat tolerance.
