mSecure 7 is a cross-platform password manager with password and secure-record storage, passkeys, built-in OTP codes, and sync. It may suit people who want a straightforward vault across supported devices, but its plan gates, platform differences, and limited independently verified security evidence deserve a close look before you choose it.
What mSecure 7 includes
mSecure 7, released in July 2026, adds passkeys, OTP codes, a redesigned record and editing view, password-generator changes, search improvements, and a refreshed Security Center, according to mSecure’s release announcement.
The company’s feature list also describes password generation, autofill, biometric unlock, auto-lock, password history and strength analysis, record templates and tags, backup and restore, and cloud or Wi-Fi sync. These are advertised capabilities; this review is based on published information rather than hands-on testing, so it cannot establish how reliably each works on a particular device or browser.
Which devices does mSecure support?
mSecure’s download and support page lists mSecure 7 for iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows. Its stated minimums are iOS 17.6, macOS 11.5, Android 5.0, Windows 10 build 17763.0, and watchOS 5.3. Windows distribution is through the Microsoft Store.

Those minimums establish listed operating-system support, not identical feature coverage. TechRadar’s 2026 password-manager comparison describes mSecure as a stronger fit for Apple users and flags weaker functionality on Windows and Android. That is the publication’s assessment, not a guarantee about every setup. If autofill or browser-extension behavior matters to you, confirm it for your own operating system and browser before relying on mSecure.

The plan table does not establish a separate price basis or billing interval for Team. mSecure’s download page offers a 30-day trial; trial terms may change, and a trial should not be confused with an ongoing free subscription.
How do sync, backups, and migration work?
Paid tiers listed in the plan table include device syncing. mSecure says Cloud Sync can be turned off; according to its Cloud Sync guidance, doing so removes the data from mSecure’s servers while leaving it on the user’s devices. That distinction matters if you want to avoid cloud storage, but local copies make a current backup and recovery plan important.

Migration depends on the version and backup format. mSecure says older versions cannot sync with mSecure 6, although some older backups can be restored. The support guidance does not imply that every legacy vault can be migrated seamlessly; check the instructions for the specific version and backup you have before switching.
How does sharing work?
mSecure offers two materially different approaches. Giving someone access to your whole account exposes all records, not just the entries you intend to share. For selective sharing across accounts, the Sharing Center uses shared vaults and requires both users to have Premium or Family/Team access, with Cloud Sync enabled, according to mSecure’s sharing guidance.

Adding a new device also requires more than the usual login: mSecure’s account-authentication instructions specify an Encrypted Account Key or QR code in addition to login credentials. Keep the key available through a secure recovery method; account access can depend on it when authorizing another device.

mSecure says it uses AES-256 encryption and a zero-knowledge architecture, and that it does not store the account password or account key on its servers. These are the company’s claims in its feature materials, not independent validation of the current product’s implementation.

A discussion on the mSecure support forum relays a summary of a purported 2025 assessment by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The forum account alleges concerns involving transparency about cryptographic mechanisms and audits, sharing-key transmission, recovery or biometric behavior, and RSA key length. The underlying BSI report and a current vendor response or remediation record were not available in the cited material. As a result, the allegations should not be treated as verified findings about mSecure 7: the report’s scope, tested version, evidence, recommendations, and present status remain unclear. The forum discussion is a secondary account, not the primary BSI report.
Who should consider mSecure?
mSecure is worth considering if you want passwords and other secure records in one vault, use devices in its supported ecosystem, and find its plan and sharing options appropriate. Before subscribing, compare the tier gates against what you need: sync is listed on paid tiers, while selective Sharing Center access starts with Premium.
It is a less certain choice if your decision depends on uniform Windows or Android behavior, independently verified security assurance, or a definitive explanation of the reported BSI concerns. Confirm browser and autofill support on your actual setup, review current pricing, and weigh the vendor’s security claims against the limited public assessment evidence described above.
